Not a bad idea. I think I can be ok with a travel handle on a head like that. I need a few to put with some unmentionable travel razors. Are the maggards a good 2 piece handle? I don't know but am also curious. The one I pictured is a 50s vintage Japanese one I'd rather not leave behind. The 1924 head has dual advantage, being both amenable to a set-screw handle swap and lying relatively flat.

Not a huge fan of the 24 but I see where the low collor head would be a great choice. Awesome thanks for sharing the picture!

What's not to like about my fav' razor in a travel version!? I love that E''24 and that's just from the razor porn I see.
I don't travel much anymore but I'm pretty sure that I have an E' '24 in a travel version. The pix are being held for ransom.
I do have an unmentionable travel razor in a case that I made. It turned out pretty good even if I do say so myself. Why? Because if I lose it I lose very little.

I'm prepping for a business trip next week, and recently refreshed my travel setup. A while back I picked up a nice travel pouch from Maggards, which holds a travel-sized handle, razor head and a tuck of blades. Worked very nicely when I was still using unmentionables on a regular basis, but now that I've moved almost solely to SEs I had to make some changes. I trimmed a section of #10-32 stainless rod to thread into the handle and accept an SE head. A Gem Junior 1912 with a very banged-up baton handle was an easy re-purposing for travel. Also, I have a neglected Damaskeene blade holder that needed a bit of cleaning and polishing which slipped nicely into the travel pouch. So now I have a travel handle that can accept an unmentionable head or an SE head, with the addition of a threaded insert, two razor heads that nest nicely together and a blade holder that can handle both unmentionable and SE blades.

I have the same travel razor spidey9 mentioned, and I pack my Ever-Ready 1912 head with it. As yet I have no container for the old pure-badger brush, but it has somehow managed to survive in my shaving kit. My stick of Tabac lives in said shaving kit, and I often use it at home because I enjoy it tremendously. EDIT: And finally...500 posts on the new board! TOST rocks!

I'm not normally a SOTD poster, but had to follow up with the first shave of my updated travel kit. How did I cram so much gear in my Dopp bag...

The short handle works better with the Gem SE head than the original unmentionable head, actually. In my humble opinion. I enjoyed the short grip which forced me to keep a light touch.
The soap is VDH Luxury, melted in to a glue stick container. Previously cleaned, of course...
