Lovely 1914, pleased you got it working. I just wish that we, UK members had easier access to these alternative blades. It is hard to get the carbon steel blades across the pond? Yap. Here in Europe we only have Personna SS PTFE coated blades. And yes, carbon blades (at least that one which Fuzzy gave me) are smoother! And maybe just a little more sharper then coated ones

It will be interesting to see how many shaves you get on each!

Most sellers in the US won't ship to the UK and if they do, they either sell in bulk only and/or the shipping costs are astronomical... UK sellers don't seem to exist - last time I checked. Luckily, I'm quite happy with my GEM stainless blades which are easily available from Connaught shaving here in the UK. Maybe someone should have a word with Connaught about carbon blades Having said this, I just noticed that "Try A Blade" sell individual blades: www.tryablade.com/singleedge - $5 shipping to the UK - only worth it if you buy some unmentionable blades or Artist Club blades as well... which I won't

Both CS blades. Yes the usa drugstore carbon blades with 009 written on the spine are the ones I am using and I Love em,I Have read the awesome reviews for the PAL carbon blades, 1st off how cool is it that PAL still has a shave product out there. I did order the PAL blades on amazon and it was 3 10 blade vaults for 12 bucks i think.... do they ship to the uk? so the 1914 shave truly was the best shave of my life, so yesterday about 20 hours after the 1914 shave i wanted to shave a little earlier than my normal daily 8pm shave and there was not enough stubble for the 1914 so i went for a quick mild shave and used my bic sensitive disposable... single blade and great mild shave. tonight i will have plenty of stubble for my Hot Rod shaver. the ER 1914 !!!

I found an Amazon seller willing to sell me 40 GEM Blue Star blades for $12.99: (And that's before taxes and handling fees)
