Today I got a lot from the world of Flea Bay. From top to bottom, Valet Autostrop, GEM 1912, and a GEM Flying Wing/Bullet Tip Micromatic. Next I got a 1900 Superior Safety Razor. I blame this one on bird Lives and wchnu. Though this is the one I am most looking forward to using. The handle has the same size threads as my Damaskeene. I stopped by my local drug store and picked up a couple of Van Der Hagen Boar brushes for PIF's at work. And 2 pucks of William's Soap. 1 to molest with some Arko(thanks bird Lives & pj3r) and 1 for pure Williams Wednesday. Attachments:

I figured this was a good place to post this. This was the thread that I first posted my Valet and I also got this strop off of the Bay. Like I said I got this strop from the Bay. It's in great shape, no nicks or tears. Now I know your saying to yourself "Ken you don't strop modern stainless steel blades." and I would agree with you, but I have also got some Feather Carbon Steel blades to go with it. I did not want to tear up the strop so I had one made at a local Amish tack shop. I have several Autostrop razors. None came with a strop. I don't really need one, but I wanted to show my nephew how they worked, so I made my own for about two dollars - useless as a strop, but works nicely for demonstrating how the stropping mechanism works: razors.click/CheapValetStrop/

Nope 2cakes of Williams I think he meant. Yup the strops are useless even on CS blades. But a very neat gadget none the less. I have a Ever Ready stropping handle too. It's fun to watch it work even if it does nothing for the edge.

The strop won't work on CS blades? Damn I thought I had done something then you guys go and pull the rug out from underneath me. Oh well I still like the razor

I like those VDH brushes. Can't find them anymore around here. The ones you have are the green ones labeled "Natural". I find they are much softer and last longer than the ivory colored ones.
