I got this old wedge blade razor on ebay in a lot. One came with a wedge blade which are 40mm but the spine is longer, and regular GEM blades (or Star wedge blades) are not wide enough. I "solved" it by using another spine on top of the blade. Huge blade gap and exposure, rendering the comb non-existent. I think if I change the angle, as you can see there is a gap to the clamps, the exposure and gap would make it more user friendly and less like a shavette. I couldn't find any data on this brand... any clues?

No clue on the razor itself, but I think you're right about the gap: with the thinner modern GEM blade, the shaving angle and the blade gap are probably not as intended. You should definitely try to shim the blade.

Is that blade going to be shaveable?? It has some rust spots so it would require restoration ... One day...
