Not long ago the Bird and I were conversing via our tin can and string phone and I mentioned I was needing to order some more blades, He asked if I had tried the PALs lately. I said no and he said he’d send me some. Well, they came and when I tried them I was really surprised, they were great! NowI know Fuzzy and a few others really like them, but I’ve never had much luck with PALs in the past so not being a big fan of Pellas I would use Treets and Blue Stars. These blades, however are great. I was going to order more Treets, my old stand-bys but now I think I’ll try some of these PALs. Due to my stubbornness it seems like I’ve been missing out on a good blade for quite some time. I should have listened to Fuzzy when he said they were good blades. Anyway, thanks Bird.

You don't know for sure until you try it out. I find CVS SE blades to be a very good blade. They are carbon steel, too.

I like all the CS blades these days,. Treet, CVS, and PAL. I have not seen any Blue Stars in awhile around here though. I still prefer the PAL when I can get them. That being said I have been getting great shaves from the CVS blades. Solid technique will sort out the any small differences in the blades.

Great News! Glad you like them...
I also dig the Treet Supers and the Blue Stars...I'm thinking maybe I get more 'great' shaves with the PALs....But that might just be in my head... Because they're Blue, I don't notice any little carbon discolorations...so I just keep shaving...ha,ha... But I have been digging all of the carbons that are available to me locally...Right now Treets are hard to find around here but Blue Stars are plentiful....ha,ha.. Looks like these blades are migrating...}8^))

Boy, I can't get over how much I like these PALs. As I said before I never could get a smooth shave from them before. About 6 months ago I even bought a couple from "Try a Blade", they tugged like crazy. One thing I did notice, most of the Pals I used before came in the cardboard 5 blade box. The ones I got from the Bird came in plastic magazines. Who knows? Anyway they are all I use now. The MICROMATICS and the Star love them. With the Pellas I've been using it seems that the first shave tugs then all the following shaves are OK. Well, I feel I shouldn't have to deal with a bad first shave. With these PALs first shave is smooth as silk. Then again that might just be all in my mind, what little is left of it.

The first shave...sometimes first 2..on a SS blade is always rough to me. The CS is smooth all the way through!!

Samething here...First 2 shaves on the SS blades are harsh...and in some injectors the same is true...in some injectors the first 2 shaves with the Pellas, EMS Personna rebranded SS blades are harsh, where as the Chinese Schicks or NOS Schick blades are smooth from shave one....But with the injectors, some of my razors I can't tell a difference...

Friends, i posted this on my sotd. Beware of the PAL blade that is not made for shaving!! The PAL sold loose or in box of 100 with PAL in spine are NOT for shaving. you must get the PAL that has a darker blue and 009 on spine, sold in 10 blade vault or 5 pack individual wrapped. I did a comparison last night and wasted the money. Razor.Emporium and Trya blade have the BAD PAL blade wit PAL on spine, dramatic difference and pardon the french, the friggin suck!!! I love my PAL blade with 009 on spine, amazon had 3, 10 blade vaults for 12 bucks ..best deal.. do NOT get the 100 pack of PALs u leas you have a labratory and you are dissecting cadaver brain matter, cuz that's what there used for...

Thank you for the heads up! I had wondered about those. Apparently the SS PTFE coated blade is ok but the CS blades are not. We will all note that in our books.

Used the Good Pal last night - again with my GEM Jr. Baton Handle and it was such a great shave- I know its just a 1912 head and nothing special - but the Baton Handle sure is special - now my handle is HOLLOW - i see ones that have a Red Tip? would those be heavier? The Treet Baton you have - is it hollow? I got my eye out for Cheap baton SE's ---- I need a backup (well really do NOT need another razor - but what the hell)

I will compare the weight to a Gem I have. I have never had one with the red end. If you want to play with the treet I would be happy to loan it to you.
