Hey Guys, For your perusal here are some Mule Deer Antler Brushes that I made. The two on the right I might end up selling to pay for more razors (grin). They are Silver Tip Badger, antlers are sheds, lightly burned for character and sealed. What do you think? Attachments:

Very nice! I've thought about doing some antler brushes since the deer population here is pretty high... and always in my yard. Care to let me know how/with what you sealed them?

It sounds like those ones should start watching behind their backs soon!! ;D Those are wonderful looking brushes johna2231. They look great with the silver tips. Do you have the loft and knot size on those??

Thanks Gentlemen!
Mr. Guy,
I sealed the ends with super glue (not too worried about it, but water can mess up fresh horns so I thought I'd be on the safe side), burned for color, buffed on a wheel, used heavy duty poly for sealing the sides, then slow set epoxy to hold the knot on under wet conditions.
RocketMan, LOL, yeah, critters better watch out around me. smile. I'm not sure on the loft but the base of the knot was 20mm. The two on the right are silver tips. I made two others with pure badger. The one on the left and another one with a 20mm "tank killer" brass round. grin
Thanks!
John

The "Tank Killer" is with a buddy of mine at work. He's a DE newb so before he went on vacation I hooked him up with a nice razor, TK brush, puck of soap and a month's worth of blades. So when he comes back he'll be hooked but good! BWAHAHAHAHAHA! Then I'll start reeling him in to the SE side...hehehe. He's a Marine (no such thing as an X-Marine, I'm told) so I thought he'd dig on the 20mm shell.
When I get it back I'll post a pic.

Sharpspine,
Sorry pardner. I made a brush with a 20mm casing for a handle. I believe it's the same round used in A-10 Warthog jets, AKA, TANK KILLERS, so we nicknamed it that. grin.

Sorry SS, no pic of the Tank Killer yet. I'll get it back in two weeks or so and will post some then. Assuming that I DO get it back!? grin. If my buddy wants to keep it he's welcome. A small price to pay for his service to our country. I'll just make another and post a pic of that. I might throw a few on the 'bay and see how they do. Who knows?

No, the 20mm is used elsewhere. The Warthog uses a 30mm that the aircraft was built around. The cannon is absolutely HUGE! Is the 20mm used in the Bradley AFV? OK, I checked. No. Not there either. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bradley_Fighting_VehicleAnyway, here's the GAU Avenger as seen on the Warthog; check it out... An enemy tankers nightmare. What the picture shows is something like 37 feet long if my memory serves me. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GAU-8_AvengerOK, so I google 20mm and that lead me to this. The short story is that the 20mm is used in fighter fixed wing aircraft. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M61_Vulcan
