As I have mentioned in a previous post, I am really trying to get the hang of this blood-thirsty Schick E3. Pros: It is pretty, It is close-shaving, It is easy to maneuver. Con: I just can't get through an entire shave without Nick cutting a weeper. So, this is where you guys come in. Please suggest to me a milder Schick model. There are Schicks-a-plenty in the auction sites at reasonable prices, so I don't think cost will be an issue. I just don't know which one to get. My first razor was a schick injector back in the mid-1970's, and I don't remember having this much trouble. Thanks, Carl

Thanks GarnerPW. Yes, let me know if you have an extra, and we can talk. Who knows, I might have something sitting around that you might want.

All, Did Schick start to make milder razors with the G1? Do these later models all shave the same, or are some rougher than others?

well, with a few exception here and there, the Schicks got milder over time, so the most recent are less aggressive than the previous models (still being great shavers, though).... so yes, you should try a G and then maybe a I or a earlier J.

iI find the G1's that I have used to be nice and mild. I also like the L models. Andreas is correct also on the adjustable. It is hard to go wrong. Wpuld you be interested in trading the E3? If GarnerPW does not have anything to help I think I can dig something up.

"Wpuld you be interested in trading the E3?"
Not yet. I want to see if my technique improves with a milder razor of similar configuration. But a trade in the near future is not out of the question. I'll give it one more chance.

I Wouldn’t waste my time with a G, honestly. Unless you like their old-timey looks. They’re still from a different era. The truly modern injectors shave just as close and are much much easier to handle and smoother. Get anything after the i-injector or later.

The I is a very nice injector. I have the regular and the Hydomagic. They are both great razors. Like little sport cars of razors. This is the standard I-1. This is my I-2 Hydromagic.

I was looking at those I-type Hydro magic razors. I like the idea of being able to clean them a bit better than the others. I have several on my eBay watch list.

Got it. Will get out Monday. I Wouldn’t waste my time with a G, honestly. Unless you like their old-timey looks. They’re still from a different era. The truly modern injectors shave just as close and are much much easier to handle and smoother. Get anything after the i-injector or later. Nothing is smoother or easier to use then a G actually. The newer ones are great but in no way a lot better then the older. At least in my world.
