Well I cleaned up the brush handle, removed the old knot, filled the handle with some coins and set the new knot at 50mm. The recesses of the letters were a bit worn (probably not helped by my cleaning) but repainted and, though not perfect, I am very happy with it. Thanks guys for some great advice with the knot! You were right; dense, soft and good backbone all at a reasonable price. It also arrived much quicker than I expected. All in all, very happy with my first refurb.

I will look on friday. My next day off. I will also get the knot ordered!! Hey mate, how did you go, did you find that brush? My knot arrived sooner than I thought and I popped it in today. I'll post a picture tomorrow. Oooooppppppsssss. You see what had happened was..... I got side tracked with work and such. I will order the knot and I do know where the handle is. I will move this to the top of my to do list. Looking forward to your pics. Edit*** Beautiful brush! I hope mine turns out as good.

Looking forward to seeing how yours turns out, maybe you can make a better job of the letters, I might try and touch mine up.

So I dug out my brush. I was a little wrong. My red and black ER is a 150. I do have a 200 that I put a silvertip badger in several years ago. A favorite brush of mine.

Great looking brushes, they look a little older than mine, I have no idea how to date these. I love the colour on the 200, I have been keeping an eye out for something like that. Looks like the 150 has a hairline crack, I hope it holds up if you reknot it. Looking forward to seeing how it turns out.

I saw that in the picture. I have not noticed it cracked. I am at work today but when I get home I will look at it.

It has more class than most of the new brushes on the market today.
