On Friday, I had an episode, and my wife ended up calling 911. My blood pressure hit about 200/100. I was taken to the hospital where eventually I got into a room at 3AM Saturday morning. So, no shave Saturday or today. I had a head CT, EKG, MRI, Echo cardiogram, a ultrasound of my carotids, blood work and urinalysis. I got checked out every way possible. Good news is, they could not find anything out of the norm. I spent Saturday night and consulted with the neurologist today. I must say, they have been thorough. What it boiled down to was hypertensive encephalopathy. That is a mouth full that makes two days in the hospital sound more reasonable. The high blood pressure ended up causing weird feelings and confusion. I think this was coming on from Thursday and came to a head Friday afternoon. I could not describe what was going on and they initially thought maybe a stroke, TIA, or some form of seizure. All that was ruled out, but by Saturday afternoon, I was feeling more like myself. My blood pressure slowly came down and today it was back to my normal except the bottom number was still high. I am home now and have showered and got clean clothes on. I have not shaved to day, and I may just wait until Monday. It is good to be home. I apologize for not checking in, but my phone is dumb, and my computer was at home where I could not access it. Again, it is great to be back. Wow! That must have scared the heck out of you and the wife. Glad it was not super serious. Please take care of yourself my friend.

Sun 10th June RazoRock Plissoft 22mm P & B Spitfire Schick N3 Schick Twin -Japan [2] Pitralon Classic A/S lotion Needed to be on the the road early on both Sat /Sun, so I wanted good foolproof Shaves, so chose the N3 with a fresh blade. Because the Twin blade seems to last forever I had almost forgotten how good they are when fresh. I used the N3 on Saturday and Sunday but varied the soap and A/S, both Shaves being exceptionally good with the second use of the blade perhaps producing a closer finish. If you have not tried a Twin blade they are a must, a tad expensive but a good blade is more essential to a Shave than one expensive A/S Or EDT [ for me anyway ]

Seriously though, glad you're out of hospital and on the mend.

Tabac Tuesday's ShaveProraso Pre Shave Tabac Jayaruh #291 Gem Featherweight CVS Carbon Steel SE CWR Thayer's Peach WH Tabac AS I started off with Proraso Pre Shave. The Tabac Shaving Soap face-lathered well with the Jayaruh #291 Synthetic brush. I did two passes with the Gem Featherweight Razor with a CVS Carbon Steel SE blade and ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with Thayer's Peach WH and then Tabac AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed... I had been reading reviews of the featherweight, and many were saying how mild they were and they could not get a good shave with them. Well, I don't think most of them know how to shave with GEMs. I had no problem with my FW. I just put the head flat against my face and went to town on my beard. I got a great shave. Now, I can continue through Thursday with it. It is a looker, and it is also a great shaver.
