It's only weird to those "other" people out there, the ones with normal, happy, productive, lives,... with families, and friends. I've heard that some of "those" people actually go outside, and intermingle with other normal people,... strange, man,.. strange.... Lol. I am pretty much an introvert. With the exception of work I tend to not like people. My sister always says this is how I attemp to interact with the world. Silly woman..... [br Many people see the things others do that they don't as weird or not understandable. Yet everything that they so is perfectly understandable and normal. They just need to get out more! As for being an introvert, think of it as being an extrovert with a slower pace of life!

Look guys.....if certain people think it's hipper to sit around there local tavern and pump Pabst Blue Ribbon and punch each other on the arm...than it is to enjoy the time we spend getting clean and shaving close and smelling great! Well whats wrong with this picture.....ROTFLMAO!!!
I know no one who really knows Shadowsdad is not going to make fun of him being clean shaven....ha,ha...anyone who has seen him empty a magazine into the 10 ring during a timed competion anyway, ha,ha....
Come on....we have one of the most innocent and best pwrsonal hygene oriented hobbies on the planet....I hear cats make fun of guys who wear ties everyday and a fedora....whew! I refuse to have what I think is cool, dictated to me, by a top 40 oriented herd of sheep.....
Lets take a survey of the wives of the married cats here....I bet the majority of them, whether they act lke it or not...really dig having clean shaving husbands who smell great....maybe I'm wrong...but I know my wife digs it. Or a survey of the chicks who work with most the TWS cats....I know they dig it....thats not motivation to do it....but it out wieghs a couple wise cracking dudes who are clueless....lol!!!
Straight Ahead Gentleman and strive for GREAT SHAVES.....!!!!

Family members think its funny, my friends did to, but most of my friends have converted.i have one friend who I worked with for years, our job would not let us have any facial hair due to medical mask, gas masks and hazmat suit use, my friend really wanted a beard, so when we both left he got his dream, but was short lived as by then the effiminate hipsters had all but taken over beard culture here in California, nothing like watching a guy on the muni train in san francisco huge hipster beard, skinny jeans, ugg boots fixing his makeup to make you decide the beard was no longer the symbol of rough masculinity. Not that i or he had a problem with peoples lifestyle choices, just seems foreign lol. Anyways he immediately converted to wet shaving when i pointed out this was the way the greatest generation shaved.

I feel like one of the wackiest guys around. I started with a 1912 and then acquired more SEs, injectors, and unmentionables along with strops, soaps, creams, and after shaves. But that was not enough. I had to turn to making my own shaving brushes which now number 300. Then I made wooden razor handles, and most recently, I created a wooden single edge open comb razor. What is next? Who knows... It is a big Wabbit Hole. How do you make your own brushes? Is like to give it a try but I don't have a lathe. I was thinking of just getting a thick maple dowel and sanding it down.

I was thinking of just getting a thick maple dowel and sanding it down. I started without a lathe. My first three brush handles were made from a piece of wild cherry from a tree that came down in our back yard. In fact, I did not get a lathe until I had completed 100 handles. You can see the beginnings here: jrshaving.blogspot.com/2014/12/wild-cherry-brush-handle.htmlEnjoy the read. I share my techniques. Feel free to copy.

You sanded the shapes by hand or did you use a Dremel bit to rough out the shape then sand it down to the shape you want?
