I just wanted to follow up on the kindness of two members here, zykris for the pif I won and wcnu for loaning me a SE razor. Both are GEM razors and I have had them for almost two weeks, i meant to post a review earlier but to pay my way through school i am working at Amazon and this last week was their big sale, pretty much working 12 hour shifts 6 days in addition to my dog having a stroke because my neighbors like to cook off fireworks for 3 weeks nightly after the 4th so its been a long few weeks. So let me get on to the reviews, for some reason i didnt have the option to post pics, so once i figure that outill get some up. both razors shave identical, they have different finishes but the head design seems the same. I used CVS blades for my shaves. I have shaved almost everyday with these two razors, they are very efficient, i enjoyed bbs shaves everytime. I did let my beard grow 3 days to see how they handles 3 days growth and still got a comfortable bbs shave. SE razors will definately be used weekly, the only issues i have are blades, im assuming cvs blades are carbon steel because they develop rust in about 3 hours after use. Thanks to both zykris and wcnu for their generosity and look forward to reporting back on the razors use.

To me they are much smoother from the start then the stainless steel blades. I also like that I can pick them up local. Both of those razors are the same model heads I think. They made some slight changes here and there but basically the same. Once you settle in then it is time to explore more..1914..lather catcher..... The fun has began.

Finally got some sleep, ill get the soap review up soon.i wanted to get a good feel for the gems withbtried and trusted soap. Im on day 3 with the current blade and drying and wiping with an alcohol wipe worked fine preserving the blade. I did shave with an unmentionable last night as i felt guilty neglecting them, and my skill is slipping, got a pretty long cut under my nose, looks like I was in a prison fight, just woke up and work was offering voluntary time off so i will have time to focus on a good shave with the gem tonight.wcnu i will get your razor back to you, i will probably send it off on friday.
