Mon 6th Aug I have been away staying with friends. Shaving in a shared bathroom is not all conducive to relaxed Shaving. I did manage to get fuss free OK Shaves by using a Schick "O" Clone. Good to be back in my own Bathroom with no interruption. A nice fresh blade and a good lather and a satisfying close Shave was assured. The Splash was just the job for our unseasonal weather. Tabac Tuesday's ShaveClubman Classic Shave Cream Tabac Shave Soap Jayaruh #30 RazoRock Black Hawk Feather Professional SE CWR Tabac AS My prep was just a cold water rinse. I used Clubman Classic Shave Cream as a pre-shave. It is an non-lathering SC, so I just applied a thin layer before face-lathering the Tabac Shave Soap with the Jayaruh #30 brush. I had used the Alumigoose that Redfisher from TSD lent me, so that is my benchmark. It was the most efficient razor I have ever used I think. I would call the Black Hawk the poor man's Alumigoose. At $33.49 including shipping, it is ever bit as good as the Alumigoose. It weighs in at 39g compared to 50g for the Alumigoose. It loads very easily. I found the correct angle almost immediately. I really like shaving with the wide blade. It is like shaving with a straight (sorry Fuzzy). It makes do with my whiskers in short order. I did two passes with the RazoRock Black Hawk Razor with a Feather Professional SE blade and ended up with a close, comfortable shave. I could have stopped after one pass, but I could not resist another pass. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with Tabac AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

August 7th SOTD Ever-Ready 1924 Wild West Shaving Chisholm Trail Semogue Owners Club Boar Brut aftershave splash Treet carbon blade Nice smooth shave with this blade. I'm finding I can't get as many shaves out of them but they are great while they last.

Today was my third shave with this blade and I can feel it just start to tug ever so slightly. I strop them between uses too. Maybe it's my facial hair dulling them faster. Who knows. Brut is a great scent!

Tue 7th Aug Vulfix 404 Vitos Super Red ER Streamline Gem S/S [ 1 ] Pitralon Polar A/S Lotion My first SE/Gem outing in nearly 2 months, and chose to use one of my favourites an ER Streamline. A contrast to the Shave of yesterday with a modern AC/SE , as this one required far more care and attention during the shave to avoid mishap. I have to be honest and say that the quality and closeness of overall finish attained today, surpasses that of yesterday though that was pretty good.Once mastered Vintage SE do provide great Shaves, though blade longevity is not as good as that of AC blades fitted to modern SE Razors.

Aqua Velva ice blue finished it all up.

Clubman Classic Shave Cream Williams Mug Shave Soap Jayaruh #30 Unmentionable CWR Clubman Pinaud AS Shaved with an unmentionable today (removed from picture for your viewing pleasure). It is Williams Wednesday. I have been using Clubman Classic Barber Shave Cream as a pre-shave. It is non-lathering, so I am just applying a thin layer after my cold water prep. Then, I load the Williams and build my lather on top of the Clubman. It has a nice scent/smell, and I am getting great protection.
