Hello all,
Back in the tail end of June I ordered a variety package of Russian shaving creams, well they finely arrived! The package contains six different creams. They are Мыльный/Soapy, Яблоневый цвет/Apple Blossom, викинг/Viking, Старт/Start, Знахарь/Wizard and ТимБри/TimBreeze (timber and breeze combined). The whole package cost $15 (averaging out to $2.50 per tube) the tubes varied in size between 40g and 70g each, from a vendor on eBay, no shipping was charged.
I've experimented with two so far, Яблоневый цвет/Apple Blossom and викинг/Viking. Initially I didn't like the results from Яблоневый цвет/Apple Blossom it had a great scent, kinda like warm spiced apple cider, but I got a very poor shave with it on the first try. Trying викинг/Viking was similar (I'll tell you about the scent in a minute) that's when I knew I needed a lesson in how to use soap from a tube, see you are hindered by not having the directions in English... So back to square one!
So after looking up some tutorials on how to lather tube shaving cream we went ahead and tried Яблоневый цвет/Apple Blossom again I used my G4 Schick and got great results. Having a good and proper lather the Russian soap was great! It is inexpensive ($2.21 before shipping from Voskhod.eu) and smells great. The викинг/Viking cream also has a very nice scent, it is a blast of citrus (orangy/grapefruity) very tropical! Mastering lather from a tube is a must if yer gonna use these out of the ordinary Russian shaving creams. Remember if you find yourself looking for Russian shaving cream on a Russian only web page or in a store there look for "крем для бритья" which means "cream for shaving" not "Бальзам Росле бритья" which means 'balm post shave".
There is more to come 'cause I've got four more to try and hopefully these will be just as nice.

I have a couple of tubes of Старт/Start, and it works great.
