It started wanting to try and find a razor that agrees with me. Only to learn from experience that most razors well give great shaves. +1 After that, being me not a collector (I can't understand to have a thing and do not use it), what I've tried in more than a decade now I'm selling. Just fews I really love, these will be the ones. But I love not only SE razors. For me, every kind of shaver has its place in my den. In that meaning, I'm a collector: of experiences, not of objects.

I find that I keep of all the different types around and use them often also.

I started off as a collector (hoarder really) of straights(unmentionables).[Fuzzy was here] I discovered SE’s and fell in love with the simplicity. Now I have 2 that work well, one is really all I need (and use 90% of the time). I have maintained a couple unmentionables[Fuzzy was here too] and a Rapide SE because they are cool to me but they rarely see use. I think acquisition of gear is normal early on but once you realize the tools all yield a predicatable result you tend to settle out with works well and is most efficient. The rest are surplus.

When I first started wet shaving, I had my grandpas unmentionable, and one that I bought from a flea market. It was enough to get met hooked. I wound up with about 15 or so unmentionables, and I had them all in rotation, as well as different blades, and soaps etc.... If you watch any youtube shaving channels, everyone touts the newest invention, or the latest discovery as the best one ever. It simply isnt like that in our world. We have so much of a niche product that to the average viewer or wet shaver, over time it will be become boring, and for a wet shaving channel to evolve, and stay going, you need to cater to your audience. However, once wchnu got me hooked from across the street, I have been pulled in and am using an SE 95% of the time. I suppose I am what you could call a collector, but I like to think of a collector as one that never allows his display to be touched, only admired from afar. I use my collection, and I rotate them as well. Great question, and great thread. This has been fun reading the responses
