I thought I would start a post for those of us who are celebrating Thanksgiving here in the states. If you have family over, or are going to family, or if you are sitting at home with a t.v. dinner and a cold beer.
Anyway, as is usually customary at my home, we say wat we are thankful for. I'll start, and if y'all want to add in, that is great! Also, for our folks who aren't in the states feel free to jump in as well, we all have something we are thankful for.
To begin, I'm thankful for the ability to be working. I ha e chronic pain, but I'm still able to work, and for that I'm thankful. Im also thankful for SWMBO, we have been married 11 years, and been an "item" for 13. She frustrates me and aggrivates me on a daily basis, but, she is my best friend and my better half.
What are you thankful for?

I'm thankful that the ALMIGHTY gave us surgical teams that could correct my heart plumbing. It doesn't get much bigger than that. It might be as "normal" as appendicitis surgery but it's still major surgery. And the USDA is involved: They allow foods to be fed to us that are totally poison with sodium levels way out of whack with bodily requirements. The body requires 250mg/day and the normal American gets far more that that. I estimate that a normal day for me gave me 4000+mg. We're paying the USDA to keep us safe and they clearly aren't doing their job.
This Thanksgiving will be mindful of that reality. I already informed those to come that I will not be insulted if they use the salt shaker liberally since I won't be cooking with salt.
The menu? We have pared it down to what we like over the years... turkey, a veg', and this year it'll be yeast rolls because they are so easy and fast. I prefer dressing instead of rolls but not for guests since it will be experimental heart healthy dressing.

I, for one, am in almost the same boat as you. I am thankful for health, not only for my immediate family, but for my "Forum Family"
