Prep: Hot shower Lather: La Famiglia Don Marco - ultra face lather Brush: Semogue OC Razor: Gem OCMM Blade: Gem PTFE (6); 3 passes Post: Cold water rinse
Continued use of the LaFam soaps & I keep seeing improvements in my skin. Not only do I get great shaves from LaFam, but I feel that it has some healing properties as well.

Georgetown G4 scuttle Homemade frankincense & myrrh preshave oil Rooney 2/1 Finest Spatia/Nuka shaving cream Gem Featherweight razor Star Super Edge blade (1) Olivia's Wintervariante aftershave balm Domenico Caraceni 1913 EdT
Quite a good shave overall. The Rooney, of course, is a real pleasure. The Bulgarian shaving cream lathered well and had a nice light floral scent, but its cushion and glide were just so-so. While I like the feel and mildness of the Featherweight, it requires a lot of touch-up to get really smooth; I prefer the Damaskeene. Olivia's balm is more soothing than just about any other I've used. I can't make up my mind about the DC 1913. It is complex and elegant but somewhat too flowery, although it becomes richer and less sweet with time. I'll suspend judgment of it for now.

Gem Open Comb Micromatic Gem SS/PFTE Blade (2) Made-Rite 500PB Brush Arko Shave Stick Pinaud Clubman
I've had a couple of absolutely fantastic shaves with the OCMM - really close and comfortable. It doesn't get much better than this.

Wednesday:
Gem Junior (fat black handle) carbon steel blade (2nd) C.O. Bigelow cream witch hazel
For being horribly behind schedule getting out the door this morning, it was as good a shave as if I had all the time in the world. I chalk it up the inadvertent discipline and focus.

Thursday AM 05-31-2012Becker scuttle Ach Brito Glyce preshave soap Somerset Simpson Beaufort 5 Pure brush Atkinsons shaving soap Schick M1 Adjustable razor Personna PTFE blade (1) 4711 aftershave A surprisingly great shave today. I soaked the vintage soap for 10 minutes with warm water on its surface, and the Beaufort, which isn't my best brush, lathered it up beautifully. Its cushion and glide were wonderful, and it even had a little musky lavender scent. The Schick did well, as usual, and the 4711, used for the first time, was very nice, with a fresh scent that SWMBO called "juicyfruity." And I'm BBS.

How long does the 4711 scent last for you? It only lasted 1-2 hours.

Great shave this morning. I've been using straights for the past week but wanted a really great, close shave this morning so picked up my SE. Good stuff! A 2 pass BBS, just like I've come to expect. Gotta love it!

Razor: GEM Jr Blade: Carbon Steel Brush: Turkish Horse Hair Lather: L'Occitane Cade soap A/S: Alum, Lucido splash, Aloe Vera Gel
BBS with a couple of minor nicks. I've been trying some non-SE razors this week and this was by far the best shave!
