Tue 27th Nov. Jayaruh No 67 P & B Pall Mall ER Streamline Gem S/S [ 1 ] Floid Vigoroso A/S Lotion I ended my Injector rotation with The Supply SE, which was a rather disappointing Shave. As I was moving on to SE using Gem blades, I chose to use a Streamline which works well with a fresh blade. Many find the Streamline to be a bit harsh, but I find it performs very well if the Shave is not rushed. The Shave went very well and using a very light touch, I was able to do the polishing up work around the chin and neck needed for an ultra close finish. The finish quality is up there with the best I can get with an AC/SE Razor. I prefer the Streamline to other vintage SEs that I have used.

Williams Wednesday's Shave Cold Water Wash Williams Mug Shaving Soap Jayaruh #206 Pal Injecto-Matic Vintage Pal Hollow Ground CWR Aqua Velva Musk AS My prep was just a cold water rinse. The Williams Mug Shaving Soap face lathered well with the Jayaruh #206 brush. I did two passes with the Pal Injecto-Matic Razor with a Personna blade and ended up with a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse, I finished off with Aqua Velva Musk AS. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

Star Cru-Steel Gem Blue Star Ever Ready 100 B&M Seville It's going to be a rainy day, guess I'll stay in and smell fantastic! How do you like that razor? Can you compare to another shave wise? I like this razor, it is a simple solid design. It gives a medium aggressive shave, unlike the Star 1902 the stops aren't too far forward. It reminds me of the ER 1913ish, which is a good thing. It occurred to me when I got this that people trying to make a modern Gem razor ( ATT, Blackland, etc.) should take a look at it. Rather than trying to make a three piece unmentionable design with a round post through a square hole forget the top cap and keep it simple.

November 28th: Micromatic Clog-Pruf using a Gem Carbon blade on it's first shave, Arko, Yaqi 26mm Timber Wolf, and finished with Thayers Rose Witch Hazel. Got a DFS after 3 passes and a touch-up. Not my best outcome ever and definitely far from my best feeling shave. A few things were different/new for me: the carbon blade, the soap and shaving prior to 48 hours of elapse time. My money is on the blade -- the Arko was perfectly fine. All in all, it wasn't a disaster, just not what I was expecting. Attachments:

Chances are it is an industrial blade and not one meant for shaving. The carbon steel blades that are meant for shaving will have 009 stamped on the spine of the blade and not GEM or PAL. If you have a CVS or RiteAid pharmacy nearby check there to see if they have any of the blade in the shaving isle, these store brand blade are carbon steel and are much better then the industrial blades.

I got it from tryablade(.com) -- same place I got the Gem PTFEs. He carries: Gem stainless, Gem stainless PTFE, Gem Carbon, and Pal Blue Carbon. I'm reasonably sure they are shaving blades, but I'll check the spine....gotta say, it certainly felt like I was shaving with an industrial blade. I recently put in a mini-order for some Gem PTFE's from Connaught....it's a UK company but their US shipping is very low. It just so happens I was in a CVS last night and I did see that they sell a tuck of 10 blades...I'm planning on giving them a try too.
