Nice one. Patent date of 10-10-11? And as it doesn't catch lather... I'd say it's not a lather catcher. I agree with you and ShadowsDad on that. It is also a later model razor so does not get in by the age. I will move it out of this section. It is really nice design. I will see how it shaves in a bit. I wonder if this would be a way to make a modern SE work? Waits seems to say 1910/11 onwards. Here's the patent: razors.click/patents/US1005273/

That's what I thought when I first saw it too, Herm. Except for the steampunk gears on the Valet.
One "lather catcher" that has always bothered me is the ER '14. It's sorta built like a LC and acts sorta like one, but isn't one. It sorta is a LC and sorta not.

It's sorta built like a LC and acts sorta like one, but isn't one. It sorta is a LC and sorta not. The 1914 is clearly a lather catcher. It's just not very good at catching lather.

I think this razor falls into the Hoe Razor catigory. I need to keep an eye out for one of these. It is a super cool looking razor.
