I have a match on Sunday (how appropriate!), then for Monday (the actual day of remembrance) I have some grass fed beef steaks that are calling to me to grill/smoke them. For those who don't know what it is... It's a day that the USA remembers all of our fallen war dead. The longer story is found at the link below. www.history.com/topics/holidays/memorial-day-history

Saturday and Sunday, we are doing some landscaping. Monday will be recovering from the landscaping and remembering those that served as well as passed on family members.

Taking the kids to the local cemetery to plass flags on graves from military service. I don't make a big deal about it to other parts of my family, in fact, they don't even know we do it every year. Just my small way of saying thank you.

I'm gonna try to stay alive! Gonna be pushing 100 degrees all weekend, and I'm too old to handle that anymore apparently.
Hope you fellas have a safe weekend, drive safely.

In Flanders fields the poppies blow Between the crosses, row on row, That mark our place; and in the sky The larks, still bravely singing, fly Scarce heard amid the guns below. We are the Dead. Short days ago We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow, Loved and were loved, and now we lie In Flanders fields. Take up our quarrel with the foe: To you from failing hands we throw The torch; be yours to hold it high. If ye break faith with us who die We shall not sleep, though poppies grow In Flanders fields.

Truck maintenance on Saturday, tying flies and halibut rigs after church on Sunday. I'm not aware of a veteran/war memorial site within driving distance like I used to visit in the Rockies, but I'll find a way to pay my respects on Monday.
And tobacco. There will be the smoking of the pipes and the cigars.

Doing my 12 hours at a chemical plant. I plan on going to my sisters tomorrow evening. Church on Sunday. As someone else said cigars are involved.

So we got a good ways on the landscaping today. I didn't contribute much early in the day as I spent a couple hours in urgent care for what probably is a bladder infection. We dug out the area for the outside wall of block and then are graveling what was a flower bed and putting pavers over top. I got 60 out of the 90 pavers we bought unloaded tonight and have one more trip to menards to get the last 30. We have a walkout basement and a couiple of patio doors so thought an actual patio would be an improvement over a flower bed.
