I received the Enders Speed Razor today. It is the older model (1934)of the Speed Razor. The handle and the interface are the main differences between the Speed Razor and the Speed Shaver (1943). In the picture below you can see that the head profiles are basically the same. The Speed Shaver is on top. On the left, the Speed Shaver has a squared opening for the blade while the Speed Razor on the right has a round opening. The Speed Shaver has some decorative slots while the Speed Razor is rather plain. I suspect that the shaves would be somewhat identical.

I sure couldn't tell the shaves apart. Winding up two months with my red Razor in near everyday use.

i have looked for one of those razors but havent found one yet. Meaning a red one in particular or just a Enders Speed? There are 14 current eBay listings for black ones.

A gentleman on B&B came across a box of Enders blades. Very generously, he offered to give them away for the shipping, 2 tucks for $4. I got four tucks from him. They were at the Post Office today when I got my mail after my vacay.

I just got a tuck yesterday from the same person. I see that you opened one. Those are carbon blades? Also have to look at your tutorial some more to adapt one of those so I can use injector blades.

The blades are magnetic, so I would say carbon blades. Making a backer blade from one is pretty easy. That way you can use way better modern blades. I will give these a shot though. I am not set up to "hone" these blades though, twhite .

I was thinking of them as "backer-blades", but I guess one could try a shave with them. I do wish I'd hit him up for 2 tucks -- these blades seem difficult to find either online or in the "wild".

Jim ( jayaruh), quick question for you...have you tried loading any of those PIF'd blades in your Enders, either as backer blades or just "as is"? I set out to use them today and found what appears to be some extra metal that may have been left over from when they were pressed/cut out of the sheet steel. Basically, the blades don't fit well in my Enders (I've tried on two different ones), and after snapping off an "ear" on one of the blades, I finally got smart and compared it to a blade that came with one of my Enders. The non-PIF'd blade is slightly heavier/sturdier than the PIF'd blade, and it's obvious on my comparison that the PIF'd ones have some ancillary metal from production. Are you seeing any of this? I should've taken a pic, but I can do it later if yours look okay. So far, I find modifying GEMs for things like Autostrops and some Lather Catchers to be easier than dealing with the Enders.

I have not. I am off for testing now.
