Here are some photos of the razor with blade loaded. Everything appears in order as far as I could tell, but this is a new razor to me. Hmmm, thanks for posting those pics....it looks good. A couple of other questions: how would you describe your shaving angle -- steep or shallow? I'm honestly trying to remember the angle I typically use....I want to say it's the same one I use for a Micromatic, (I'll shave with it tomorrow to confirm). One thing I do recall is that this razor is on the loud side -- almost Lather Catcher loud -- do you recall hearing the cutting? I prefer to shave with a steeper angle than most SE shavers. This razor seemed to like a shallower angle than I would typically use, which I tried to adjust for...that may be the problem. I may need to ride the cap a bit. I'll use it again tomorrow and see if I can get better results. That's a good thought Fred, thank you.

Try sliding the cap back a bit more. I will also try this prior to tomorrow's shave with it. The razor and blade felt secure but there's certainly no harm at all in checking and rechecking the equipment. Thank you for the feedback. I'll post my results tomorrow.

SOTD 12/18/2019 Razor: TNNSER 3D Blade: Gem PTFE coated Brush: Yaqi 24mm Sagrada Familia Black/White Tuxedo Synthetic Pre-Shave: Dr. Bronner's Lavender Soap Lather: Captain's Choice Lime Aftershave: Captain's Choice Nor'Easter Additional Care: Thayer's Witch Hazel Gentlemen Jon's Alum Block Okay, so the TNNSER has officially utterly confused and humbled me. This evening I put in a new Gem PTFE blade (one I am very familiar with and know what to expect from) and started my shave. I rode the cap a bit more since Flintstone mentioned to me that the TNNSER likes that angle. I also Pushed the top cap back a bit from my previous shave. Efficiency went from almost nonexistent yesterday, to through the roof today. I was fine with this until I realised the top cap was pushed too far back, exposing the nasty corners of my blade. I got an excellent CCS+ on my face and cheeks but my neck is mangled. I think I just had it in my head that I needed to shave with the TNNSER using technique required of a mild razor (which was my experience yesterday, I would have had to try really hard to cut myself). However, my adjustments (either new blade, top cap pushed back or both) made the TNNSER into the efficient razor everyone had claimed it to be. This was sort of a recipe for disaster which ultimately came to life. Today's cuts weren't a big deal. It was an evening shave and I'll be healed by tomorrow. The good thing is that now I think I've figured out the issue. I'm going to put the TNNSER down for a few weeks and come back to it with fresh eyes. It's been a very long time since I've been this challenged by a razor. I have a decent collection and shave with a new razor almost daily. I was pretty certain my technique was all but bullet proof. I'm still pretty darned sure of my technique, what I think happened has more to do with that top cap adjustment than anything. On the first shave I think the top cap position had a hugely negative impact on the efficiency of the razor. On today's shave I over compensated by pushing the top cap too far, resulting in an uber efficient shaver...and a user expecting a very mild shave. I feel like I've just repeated myself...anyway. Coming back to the TNNSER in a few weeks. Thank you all for the help. Attachments:

Glad everything is coming together. Looks like you should be able to dial in the TNNSER even more. I hope you get it down.

I shaved with my TNNSER this morning and I'm very happy to report an excellent shave! I believe my original issues with it were due to either blade or cap misalignment on my part. I'm not sure which, but either way the razor is performing beautifully now. I'm thankful to have things figured out, I'm also grateful to those who offered helpful advice in figuring out the issue. I look forward to many more excellent TNNSER shaves in the future!

In theory, with two coloured TNNSER's there are 6 potential hybrids. Here's #1

TNNSER 3D TransparentA clear winner. Thinking about it, it's not transparent at all. If it was transparent, it would not show up in the picture. It is however translucent. A much more satisfying word.
