I've been busy building a greenhouse lately so I haven't had time to do any turning. Well yesterday and today I fixed that. The one in the middle is back on the lathe to finally get finished. All three are works in progress and need final finishing.

Thanks guys. Beautiful!! Do you have your knots picked out? Badger, Boar, Horse or Synthetic? The one on the left is Gaboon Ebony and mistry burl wood it's drilled for a 26mm knot which hasn't been determined. The middle is Gaboon Ebony and Back yard maple the maple came from a friend on another forum. It will be getting a 28mm boar. The right is olive wood drilled for a 26mm knot and will get a two band badger. It is going to a local friend.

Here are three brushes I made a while ago and finally got knots in. Left to right. Black Walnut and Olive with boar this one has a wipe on poly finish. Black Walnut with horse hair knot and a Black Walnut with brass shavings and epoxy vein and a blond horse hair knot. These two have a tung oil finish.

Very nice work there. The one on the right looks like an Egyptian vase. I am too lazy to go look up the name of it though.

And here are the other two brushes over been working on. I need to figure out what knot yo put in the shorter handle. It's drilled for a 26mm. I will be keeping these two since a good friend of mine has more brushes that I've made than I do. I figure it's time to treat myself to some of my work.

Those are beautiful. I am missing turning. It may be January before I can return to turning.

jayaruh when it's your turn to return to turning try to tag me in the thread that tells the tale of the turnings. How's that for alliteration?

I am looking forward to doing some turning again. It may not be until the first of the year, but it may be sooner. We shall see. I may go back to the old fashion way with no lathe, but I am getting the itch. I do need to find homes for a bunch of brushes now. Since Christmas is just around the corner, if you would like to add a brush or two to your stable, just PM me with your picks. I will give you a deal. jrshaving.blogspot.com/p/brushes-for-adoption.html

Unfortunately I have already spent every penny of my Christmas allowance. I will definitely have to ad one of your brushes to my collection in the future.
