Gem HFT Gem CS Blade (1) Made-Rite 500PB Brush KMF Cool Mint Cream Witch Hazel / Essential Oils
This was my first shave since Friday as I was with the family at our cabin in South Central Missouri. As such, I had a 2 1/2 day build up of stubble. The first pass with the HFT and the "mystery" Gem CS blade was rough - a lot of pulling. This wasn't entirely unexpected considering my beard growth. The second pass was smooth and comfortable - about what I had been getting with the FW loaded with the Gem CS blade. The final result: DFS. Looking forward to tomorrow's shave!

Tuesday 4th September 2012 Prep: Shower Razor: GEM Micromatic OC Blade: Modern Stainless GEM Coated Brush: Turkish No. 6 Horse Soap: Füme Aftershave: Dove Sensitive Balm
A great shave, but one tiny weeper, although the OCMM is 'fiercer' than my other SE's I'm not convinced the end result is any better, the first pass is always the closest I get with the SE's that I own but in the end (after pass three) the result is more or less the same.
If you were the sort of person that only shaved every two or three days, this razor (IMHO) would be absolutely perfect.
Regards Dick.

Gem HFT Gem CS Blade (2) Made-Rite 500PB Brush C.O. Bigelow Cream Mennen Skin Bracer
I was rushed for time this morning so I cut my number of passes to one with touch-up. I would rate this one as CCS.

Wednesday 5th September 2012 Prep: Shower Razor: GEM Junior fat handle Blade: Modern Stainless GEM Coated Brush: Shaving Factory Horse Med. Soap: Erasmic Supreme Sitck & Erasmic Cream + Glycerine Aftershave: Real Shaving Company Balm
Another attempt at making Uberlather and this time I seem to have got it right. I mixed it all up in my cappuccino cup and then added a half dozen drops of Glycerine, the only problem was after three passes there was still enough remaining to shave a football team! Lovely slippery lather that seemed to work really well.
Regards Dick.

Never played the ultra or uber lather game. Love the erasmic stick though. I might need to try the cream.

Gem HFT Gem CS Blade (3) Made-Rite 500PB Brush KMF Cool Mint Cream Pinaud Clubman
Today I had the worst shave I had in quite a long time. It wasn't as rough a shave as I got with the Gem CS blade in the OC or CP MMs but it wasn't nearly as smooth as the FW. Even after just three shaves, the blade seemed very dull and didn't do an adequate job of eliminating my beard growth. I'm going to try a fresh blade in the HFT tomorrow to see if this particular blade was a fluke or whether these blades just don't like the HFT.

Great shave, I think the Tweex is, by a very short margin my favourite of the Turkish shave sticks. Regards Dick.

Thursday 9/6
Razor: GEM Micromatic Bullet-tip Blade: GEM stainless (1) Brush: Semogue 1305 boar Lather: Godrej Deluxe Lather
Post: Alum, Lucido, Clarins AS Soother
Result: Great shave, as usual with my trusty SEs. BBS! I may need to stop using this particular Godrej cream though... Something in it bothers my face. The balm calms it down, but I'd rather not get it in the first place. Too bad, since the Deluxe lather works well and has a nice scent. Good thing the Menthol Mist doesn't effect me the same way!

Gem HFT Gem CS Blade (1) Made-Rite 500PB Brush KMF Cool Mint Cream Vi-Jon Ivy Club Spice
Well, I guess I can assume that the blade I used for the previous three days was just a bad one in the batch. I put a new Gem CS blade in the HFT this morning and had a very nice shave - as comfortable as with the FW, no irritation, and DFS quality.

Saturday 8th September 2012 Prep: Shower Razor: Schick Type I Blade: Stainless Coated Brush: Lijun/Burma Shave Boar Cream: T.O.B.S. Sandalwood, Erasmic Supreme Stick and Glycerine Aftershave: Nivea Cream
I seemed to have now gotten to grips with this Uberlather and it certainly has a very thick slippery and silky feeling, I really like it.
I went in the sea today for a swim, virtually unheard of in the UK in September, this year September so far, has been way better than the summer!
Regards Dick.
