Greetings
A new acquisition for me today, it arrived in the post all the way from Idaho USA a Micromatic Clog- Pruf, better known to members of this forum as a 'New Fangled Junkomatic Razor', post 1930 to boot!
I am actually thrilled with it and looking forward to shaving with it and using it as part of my rotation.
I am telling you about it as I subscribed to this forum in the belief (possibly erroneous) that it was a SE forum in other words a forum that discussed and welcomed the use of all SE razors.
It would now appear to me as a 'newbie' that this is a forum where only the use and discussion of very old or 'antique' razors is welcomed and those upstarts who would think that a razor made only 50 years ago or less could be worthy of discussion are not 'part of our agenda'.
Do please tell me that either (a) I am wrong and have grossly misread what is being said as I am just a dumb Brit. Or (b) You have got the message spot on , now f**k off!
Regards Dick

Dick, plenty of gents use the Mmcp or Mmoc and feel they are the best, too each their own. I happen to enjoy injectors, some people think those are a joke also. Pay people's opinons no mind.

Dick, I'm one of those who have a preference for the Micromatics. I even have quite a fondness for my Feather Weight. There are plenty of us on this forum who appreciate the "new fangled" Gems; you are not alone by any means!

This is a forum for all SE guys. Most of the anti micro matic post are along the lines of the anti Williams post.
You are much more then welcome here. With which ever SE razor you prefer. Heck I have 7 OCMM's at last count, and there is a OCMM/Clog Pruf give away in the works when I get some free time.

Dick, what you reference is done by only one person as a running joke. This is a small forum, and sometimes we forget that it's quite public and not everyone is in on the "joke". I was wondering when this would happen. Frankly, it took longer than I thought it would, but how many folks haven't joined that we never knew about because they said nothing and merely left?
All SE razors are welcome here. I regularly (well semi regularly) use a FW, and more regularly use an OCMM. Once in a while a CPMM.
Just check the GEM archives here. Other than one person the MM family definitely has a following.
Edit: BTW, when I first saw the subject of this thread I thought a forum for antique razors was going to be proposed. I was going to lend my voice against such an idea.

Greetings
Clearly I owe you ladies and gentleman an apology for my curtness and rudeness, I give you that apology unreservedly. I misread what was being said as excluding those that might subscribe to a contrary or different view. I now realise I was wrong.
Regards Dick.

I must apologize if my comments have been making anyone feel that there is a push around here only towards antique razors. I have always jokingly referred to razors that don't look like you could also use them to perform an appendectomy as 'new fangled'! My preference just works out to be the older models. Actually, only a small percentage of the razor specific posts here are about older razors so I keep dropping in about LCs and the older stuff because to me it feels like almost everyone is on about the MMs and their cousins so I am promoting other razors as well.
This is indeed a Single Edge site where everything SE is equally valid. Period. I very much appreciate the quality of manufacture of the 1930s and later GEM and ER products. And I know that many here are as well. Please feel at home here and remember that if it is SE - anything goes!
Looking forward to hearing how the MM works out for you!!
VIVA LA SE RAZOR!!
