Picked this up a while back, looks kinda cool on the bathroom counter. All blade packs are full. Attachments:

The only SE blade, that is actually..... a DE blade, used in an SE razor... Ohhhhh the irony.....

Those blades should have been a big success but for the fact that as shaving evolved the emphasis seemed to be more on convenience (laziness) than a quality shave. It would have been too much effort for some people to open the razor and flip the blade around.

Very cool display. I've got several of them, but the couple I've opened have been rusted. Everyone talks about how expensive shaving stuff today is but look at the price of those, a nickel each. 60-70 years ago that was a lot of money.

These blades are also not usable. I can't imagine them being better todays ptfe or carbon blades, even when they were new. I haven't measured them, but they are certainly thicker than the .009 Se blades we are used to using. I can take a few close up pics later today and post.

Neat!
I've used a few vintage carbon steel blades that have been visually good. Not a lot, just a few. Every one has disappointed me. The last was a Valet blade. Has anyone seen how they were packaged!? I figured of any blade that surely would be a great blade. OK I was wrong with that one too. Whether it was micro rust that I couldn't see or if our blades really are much better than even a fresh blade of 60 years ago, I don't know.
Now I just keep them as curiousities.
