What's the scrap value for silver these days? Yikes - not that high!!! I am not so certain that is a silver plated razor, and it is certainly not solid at any rate - so even if plated - and you could scratch it off - maybe five bucks tops on this one?? Nice to see you around the boards Mr Flay!!!

Wow nice set. I found a traveler set local but has a cracked hone and the strop is not in good shape. I passed.

Huh? Were they looking at the same razor that I was looking at?
It has few micro grams of silver and silver is near what... $40/ounce right now?
Insanity IMO.

Yes, this is an excellent link - thanks for posting this. It may well be worth starting a 'LINK' page here at TOST for identification and information. The safetyrazors.net pages are well established informational links and an important foundation of learning about safety razors. It is nice to see these again. Very good quality reproductions too - this 'ghost' site idea - I am not sure what this means?

I tried to use mine but I can't get the edge shave ready & I don't have the desire to now that I've found quite a few other razors that I enjoy immensely.

That's my problem with mine too Brian. I can get the edge almost shave ready (I think), but it's just not there yet IMO. I was told by a gent who uses stright razors, that it'll never feel like a disposable blade. If that's the case I might try selling mine too. But I'm going to play with it some more before I do. I'm in no hurry.

Some hang on until the owner of the site server deletes it. Some can be found at archive.org. This one is at the ShaveWorld.org site under Articles. Safetyrazors.net was Alan Appleby's site. Alan's orginal site was owned by Yahoo who deleted all the images when it became inactive. A Identification/History link or topic is a great idea!
