RM, it's not difficult to keep track. When I was blade testing I kept the blade wrapper and every time I used the blade for a shave I put a tally mark on the wrapper. I still do that. It's habit at this point, but it does allow me to keep tabs on when a blade might be getting ready for the can. Hey, old fart here... Remember how many shaves are on a blade? I'm lucky to remember my name. Tricks like that help.

Then get back to it when you get back to it. Yeah??? That would be a pretty good plan. I tend to have a few razors on the go and get all mixed up about which blade was where when and...... Your idea is quite good.

I use an old tin soap container for blades that I have in rotation. I can tell if a blade is good for one more shave or not. If not I get rid of it, if its still good it goes in here

No, Once a blade is used, it's kept in a razor. I do move them around from razor to razor, but once a blade has begun it's useful life it stays out of the wrapper. The wrapper with the tally marks resides under the razor. Generally I only have a maximum of 3 blades in use at any one time. One in a VC1 VAS, One DE blade, and another SE blade. The last 2 blades get shuffled around until they're used up. Sometimes (rarely) I'll bring out a special VAS and the VAS blade gets put into it for one shave, then back into the "everyday" VC1.

I keep mine in a razor too - but I tend to forget who was who and what was what. I tried marking on a note paper, but that c*cked up too. I pretty much just switch them out when they start to tug.
