Turkey, YUCK! Okay, I like turkey a bit but can't see making a big bird for just two of us. Will be eating turkey for about 3 weeks. So instead I am making braised italian chicken. No tomato sauce in it but it is just great with a nice salad, parmesan risoto, and green beans almondine, and of course a great home made punkin pie. My wife makes the best pies. Happy Thanksgiving to all of you out there in TOSTland!

Mmmmm, turkey brined in a mixture of apple juice, brown sugar, kosher salt and some oranges then smoked over some pecan wood. After three weeks you'd be sad that it was gone!

Us Canucks had our thanksgiving day back in October. But, Happy T Day to y'all south of our border!!!!
We do the Turkey thing too - probably stole it from the American tradition! usually Turkey with bread stuffing, cranberry sauce, gravy, mashed potatos and some sort of veg would be typical. Some folks throw a ham in the mix too - and of course pumpkin pie!!! Yumm. I am getting hungry all over again.
ENJOY THE WEEKEND!!!!!!!
HT - that brined turkey thang sounds absolutely delicious!!! I don't know anyone up this way that does that. I have never tasted such a thing. I would love to try doing that someday.
