Found this full bottle of 1973-1980 Old Spice cologne today for $5. I've already got gallons of the stuff but I simply can't pass it up!

HT,
I have some present day Shulton AS, have you compared them? Great find.

John, I have several gallons of Old Spice, both vintage and new, it's my favorite. I can tell a difference between all of them, how much of that is due to age and how much is because of formula changes over the years is hard to say. My oldest bottle is from the early 50's and it smells different than the late 50's that I have.
For some reason my favorite version is from the 70's, it seems to have a distinct (stronger?) scent that is different any other era.
I like the modern version a lot, but have a real weakness for the vintage OS.

I bought some of the modern "Shulton" Old Spice from Bullgoose Shaving and I like it much more than the Old Spice you can buy from the local Walmart/Walgreens.

Love old spice. I have not used any old stuff. I think I will pull some out for the shave tomorrow.
Great find on that bottle HT.

Old Spice is one of my all time favs as well.
I remember driving past the OS plant and the scent in the air was intoxicating. Was it in Nutley NJ? Near there anyway.

I'm with you all on this one....Old Spice is my favorite and signature....And I also love it in all its incarnations...I also really do love the present P&G version...its a little lighter, sweeter, and leans more on the powderery vanilla than the spice from the original...which is cool with me...kind of like Guerlain's Habit Rouge.... Your collection sounds wonderful Tom...I bet each version can take you on its own olfactory tour....
