Picked up this blade bank a while ago..thought it was pretty cool. It is made by Ceramic Arts Studio in Madison Wisconsin. According to a website Tony debuted in 1951 (Ceramic Arts Studio closed in 1956) It has no opening to remove old blades and since it is empty I assume it has never been used as a blade bank...I dont think I will use it as one either. Here is my everyday blade bank...a Williams soap container that dates to 1908 Anyone else have an interesting container for their used blades?

I had a bunch of PVC pipe and fittings laying around that I no longer needed. I cut a 10" piece and put ends caps on each end. I then took a dremel tool and cut a slot in one of the end caps. I stuck it upright under the sink and dropped the blades in the slot. Worked well.

I super glued the top on a tin can that came filled with a cream filled wafer thingy. Then cut a slit in the top.

I use an empty soup can as a blade bank. Just cut a slit in the top, poured the soup into a sauce pan and added the proper amount of water and enjoyed the soup for lunch. I will glad post a pix of it if you guys want me to.
Just one question for sleddog about his current blade bank. Is that a container for something Williams, like soap for cleaning the toilet? I assume that is something other than the stuff Fuzzy uses, right? ;D

I use a vintage Listerine Shaving Cream ceramic frog blade bank (see my avatar). When it starts to get rather full, I can easily shake out the used blades and transfer to a soup can blade bank for permanent storage. The frog looks great on the lavatory - much better than the soup can would!

The frog looks great on the lavatory - ;Dmuch better than the soup can would! Beauty is in the eye of the beholder you know! But I go for efficiency over beauty and form in this case. When the soup can is full no need to shake out the blades and put in another container. Simply toss the can in the metal recycling tub and make another soup can blade bank. I could take the time to paint or somehow make the soup can pretty but then that takes time away from my continuing search for other shaving accoutrements. Can't have that you know!
