I've noticed that some of the CPMMs have about 17 teeth on the comb, while others have 12. Anyone know when the change happened? Are the 17s milder than the 12s? The only 12s I've seen have been chrome.

I brought this up awhile back over at B&B, and even took a picture to illustrate it. I think it might have been discussed at the old board as well. Up until this summer every one I've owned was the same, 12 teeth on the chrome ones, and 17 on the gold models, but I picked up this gold one at a yard sale and it has 12 teeth. I have no idea why they are different.

Thanks for the info Tom. As I have been only using 17 tooth CPs I am forced to go on the hunt for a 12 tooth CP.
(It never really stops, does it)
Thanks again,
Alan

To me, the 17 T seems to be just a bit more agressive. I have to pay attention when driving it, while the 12 T seems very forgiving.
