I have a question--The streamline has the razor and autostropper in the set.Is the autostropper used in todays age because we can just pop a new blade in,or is it just not used. Thanks for your help

I've never used that stropper, but I've tried stropping blades in a Valet Autostrop. Every one I've stropped I've destroyed. I have no idea why. Is something eluding me? Do we have a different standard today re: what sharp means? I don't know, but I gave up.
Blades are incredibly inexpensive, I just stock up.

I have an ER stropper. I get the same results as I do with the Valet. Which is to say it dulls the blade.

The closest I have ever come to getting a shaving edge from my own hand is on the Rolls Razor. It shaves my arm hairs fine when I test it, but it just lacks that final edge that I've come to expect on my face.
I suspect it's either that my expectations have been set too high by modern blades or I need more education re: how to sharpen an edge. I intend to learn how better to produce an ultra sharp edge. Maybe that can be brought to spine backed blade sharpening? I don't know yet, But anything I learn/find out I'll share if it works.
