Scored an early Gem razor this week. Took a couple of pics while I was cleaning it tonight...will post more tomorrow when its all cleaned up

Its in pretty good shape for being around 110 years old. The little bit of information that I could find seems to date this razor to around 1901-03'ish. I think it is the second generation "New Gem" Yes I think you have it pretty darn close. No hope for that blade. But do you think you might tackle freshening up a wedge and giving it a go? A bit of a project - but ......

I have a friend that is right into straight razors, I'm going to see if he can put a nice edge on them for me.

It's adjustable too.
I had particular interest in the tiny screws at the upper rear. They adjust the blade for wear and exposure. How neat!

please dont discard that blade.... it is most certainly able to be saved and even used!!!
just need to research on how to hone it! Have a knife maker put an edge on it, if you dont sharpen your own knives.
