I stopped by a collectable's store on the way home today, I have found a few razors there in the past and thought I would see if there was anything new. Managed to find one razor in a brown metal case.. A Canadian Valet case With 2 Gillette blue blades and a Gem 1912 razor Nice and shiney Gem Cutlery on the back... Damaskeene on the inside I will give it a test drive next shave Thanks for looking Kevin

I like it !
I have a 3 or 4 of those Dams and they all have the beveled edge blade cover not the fully convex cover like your new find plus none of mine cleaned up that well.

That D is sure a beauty! Looks hardly used at all!
Gotta love the old DE blades in there..... guy probably tried to use them in the dammy and gave up when that razor was still almost new! looks like Valet.. on the inner case.

A 1912 Damaskeene made while they where still known as Gem Cutlery so that means it was made prior to 1919. Outstanding!

My Dammy has the beveled edge and is lacking the fully convex cover also. I would expect that it was one of the later models but it's marked Gem Cutlery which would date it prior to 1919. I'm perplexed by it but I still love it. It's my favorite razor in the stable...and it's in nearly pristine condition to boot. Kevin, your Dammy is absolutely beautiful. An outstanding find indeed! The VAS case is pretty cool too.

OHHH! Nice surprise indeed....I would expect it to be the older 1912...with the curved blade cover...Damaskeene ad inside and Gem Cutlery on back...She's nothing but the real thing....and she is still looks like a youngster...quite shiney and fetching with that 'Come Hither' profile...

I just noticed inside the case... DE blades. Hmmm, I never tried that, maybe I'm missing something.
