As you know, Ive got the solid guard bar version...I would say mine is surprisingly mild feeling but the results are surprisingly efficient...Also the C3 definitely wants the head flat on face with the handle at a right angle to face at all times.... if I drop the angle it doesn't cut...Keep the angle leaves BBS in it's wake! The heavy square handle makes keeping the angle an easy thing to do...So I'm thinking the window of opportunity with the right cutting angle is close or small...But it shaves as close as my E2 which is my most aggressive razor while feeling mild, similar to my Damaskeene or something....
So Bob, how would you compare the shave results to your other razors?

It is difficult to compare to other razors because it is so different. No other SE razor (at least none that I own) has the blade at a 90 degree angle to the handle. And no injector razor has the kind of heft that the mechanism in the handle gives the repeating razors.
The way the comb extends in front of the blade is also different. With most razors, too steep an angle will result in the blade scraping rather than slicing, resulting in irritation and razor burn. With the extended comb, too steep an angle means that the blade doesn't contact the face at all.
I agree with your assessment. It definitely comes across as a mild shaver, but the end result is a close shave such as one might expect from a more aggressive razor.
Actually, the Gem Junior lather catcher I've been using the last couple of days is kind of like that.

As long as I maintain that angle it really shaved efficiently, but as soon as I began to drop the handle it begins to not cut at all. And the tendency is to use it like an injector, hoe style...Funny, Fergie posted these original instructions and now ,I can see clearly now....ha,ha..check it out...

Shaved with my Schick Simplified Automatic C3 Magazine Repeater today....Man, I'm crazy for this razor... I think I was always a Schick Repeater Guy just waiting to meet this razor, my 'soul-shaver'!
I loaded a new Long's Drugs/NOS Personna Chromium blade....when I load a blade, I open the blade door and take out the magazine. Drop a new blade in and replace the mag into the razor....Then RACK IT !!! Perfect everytime and "Too Cool For School"....But I don't leave blades in the magazine in the razor. I know it was made for it, but I think that in a razor where you are rinsing between each stroke that it is just not the best atmosphere to keep several months worth of blades...ha,ha...Also loading one at I time, it never jams, so why itch? }8^))
This razor today with a new blade....Arko stick generously rubbed on my whiskers...and I hit that with a wet Omega 10299 Baby-Pro loaded with Williams Mug Soap.....UBER-LATHER and very slick!!
Three passes of Heaven!.....no need for touch-up!.....I splashed with Dickenson's Witch Hazel...Then a palm of Clubman's Special Reserve, & a palm of Classic Vanilla..... I feel & smell GREAT! ....Of course they can smell me in Canada....but I'm smelling Great non-the-less!....ha,ha!
