A while back during my high end stainless steel DE razor days I received a few cream samples as a throw in during a BST deal.
Played around with the samples a bit the way they're supposed to be used but nothing caught my attention.
A few days ago I lathered up some Williams and shot a dime or nickel sized bit of Lab Series Maximum Comfort Shave Cream into my shave mug and lathered a little more.
I know that's not how you're supposed to use this stuff but the result was explosive thick rich slippery smooth lather that really worked, really made a significant difference. It turned that Williams into a completely different animal. My open comb's teeth created beautiful grooved ribbons of the stuff in it's wake unlike anything I've seen before and did so without mucking up my razor yet shaved close and ultra-smooth.
I think y'all know me well enough to have seen I usually keep it simple,Williams or VDH mostly because it's worked as well for me as soaps costing more. but whuppin' this combo up was a game changer that worked too well to be ignored.
I have a couple of more cream samples to try before placing an order, nothing yet has worked close to as well as the Lab Series
On Amazon it looks like I can get 8oz shipped to my house for about $25

Thanks Fuzzy
I've never paid much attention to lather,I've mostly been aiming for consistency while experimenting with various razors and keeping variables like lather and blades the same.
The other samples I received were Jack Black shave cream which didn't work out as well for me and Anthony Logistics Shave Cream which I test lathered with Williams this evening. The Anthony Logistics performed well, well enough to be worth using...but not quite to the level of Lab Series.
I'd never heard of any of these brands until I got the samples...
A bit of searching showed that rather than use Amazon there's an Ulta Beauty Supply Store around the corner that sells all the shave creams I sampled. It'll be nice to be able to get some other shave products locally.

Nice that you can find stuff local. I wish I could find more.
