Hi Guys,
I recently receive from Brian aka ShadowsDad a beautiful G-bar and here I would like to share with you my journey with it and rest of SE.
So background first. Brian introduced me to SE on basis this could be "it" for my sensitive skin which required a mild razor to do job(almost never BBS). I started journey with his loan FW( a fine razor). Long time passed I discover that I actually need more aggresive razor to deal with my beard. But how to do it with my skin problem(razor burns etc..)?
DE were too flexible for me and SE came as life saver( that came to my attention thanks too long discussion with Brian, who was really patience, I would kill myself). Now I start following advise of Brian which razor to shave. My go to razor on aggressiveness thanks to everybody here is ER' Streamline and OCMM if I will be extra careful.
Now `G-Bar gives me a fine non irritation shave but if I try for BBs I can get irritation. Mind you I love these razor for design and how comfortable I can shave with it. It will be definitely a razor I will use often on 1-2 day growth.
I am left handed who have right hand disable since was born. So design plays a big role in everything I do. I even cannot use brush in right hand or hold a bowl. Here comes a G-Bar which makes me sure I will shave safety.
Thanks yet again everybody and Brian for allowing me access into SE and helping me out. So now you guys know why I am so thankful to people who help me:)

Thanks for sharing that Jack. BrianK (ShadowsDad) is a fine gentleman and I'm sure his only pleasure from this is that you are getting better shaves now. I'm also using my Streamline all this week in honor of our UK SOTD theme and it's a pleasure to use each and every time.
Happy shaves to you Jack!

It is great to see the sharing that goes on in the wetshave community!! Great stuff!
Jack, this is just my two cents for what it is worth, but I would indicate my skin as sensitive - pale Scottish stock ya know - and I stopped trying for the BBS a long time ago. It is an elusive beast, and quite frankly, why??
I now settle for a DFS - a Damn Fine Shave every time!! One that suits my mood at the time - whether I use creams or soaps - whether I select GEM or ER or Kampfe or an exotic - which blade I choose - whether I face lather or bowl lather - pre oil? - post oil? - you got that part of the picture.
But then, to give that shave that leaves me looking presentable yet gives my skin an opportunity to be happy! Shaving, by the very nature of the process creates trauma for the skin, and that trauma is best made minimal by giving yourself an 'acceptable' shave - a Damn Fine Shave!!
VIVA LA DFS!!!
: )

Brian has one of the best brains around the shaving forums,he is more responsible than anyone for encouraging me to look at single edge razors with a logical open mind.
Well done Jack, thanks for sharing your story with us,a reminder that my thanks to Brian are long overdue.

Sounds a bit familiar. I got into SE shaving thanks to the urging and offer of a free '12 GEM from our site founder Dave Irving aka D.Irving79. He was right about SE shaving, a great way to remove those whiskers. Ended up getting a couple other razors from Dave and my first boar brush as well. Got them a very reasonable prices too. So sorry that Dave has disappeared not just from this site but it seems from all the shave sites.
