Greetings Wednesday 13th March 2013 Prep: Shower Razor: GEM Micromatic Flying Wing Blade: GEM Stainless Coated Brush: Burma Shave Boar Soap: Speick grated Aftershave: La Toja Balm Superb close shave. I find it very difficult to pick out my favourite razors but the three Micromatics are at the very top of my list with the OCMM in first place. I love my Micromatics too. I don't feel much difference in the shave between the Flying Wing and the Clog-Pruf, but I like the look of the Flying wing a bit more. If I was picking the "one razor" to use exclusively I would probably pick the Flying Wing, but the OCMM gives an even better shave for me as well. It's just a bit more likely to feel harsh.

Funny thing about the OCMM,I think it's the easiest SE razor for me to pick up after being away from it a long time and still nail a good shave....The shaving angle's practically built in,smooth light effortless strokes and I'm done shaving before my beard knows what hit it....

Greetings Thursday 14th March 2013 Prep: Shower Razor: Wilkinson Sword Empire Model Blade GEM Stainless Coated (modified) Brush: Shaving Factory Boar (Med.) Soap: Palmolive grated + Palmolive Cream + Glycerine, Überlather Aftershave: RSC Balm My Wilkinson razor arrived and luckily it is an Empire model, first shave with this new 'toy' and a very good shave indeed. The odd rolling screw style guard is as Bjorney says a little strange but works fine, I found with the razor adjusted to it's most aggressive it scraped a little and on the mildest setting would only just cut, right in the middle seems about right for me. The razor is very head heavy and a little angle sensitive but first impressions are all positive and for £4.65 delivered from e-bay it has to be a bargain! The amount of quality engineering in this razor (in the main to facilitate stropping wedge blades) is amazing, what on earth would something like this cost to produce today? Regards Dick.

Great News Dick! I'm glad your razor was one of the usable ones. I'm on my third day with mine and really enjoying it. Great photo too.

Thursday 3/14 Razor: Wilkinson Sword Empire Model Blade GEM Stainless Coated Brush: TGN synthetic knot in Certifyd handle Lather: L'Occitane Cade soap Post: Alum, Lucido, unrefined Shea Butter Results: Another great shave with the Empire! I went to the most aggressive setting on the guard bar and it was a bit too harsh so I backed off and found my sweet spot. Mostly BBS. A few tiny weepers that the alum took care of.

Greetings Bjorn I note that your Empire model has really deep knurling and mine is very shallow, interesting as mine is not at all worn and I suspect has led a 'sheltered life'. I have at this early stage arrived at the conclusion that with this razor and the 'bastardised blades' we are using it is only a matter of time before you seriously cut your fingers fitting/removing these blades, I can't believe that I have so far escaped uninjured and that is on day one! Regards Dick.

Regards Dick. Dick, I feel that I have a pretty safe method down. If you use a pair of needle-nose pliers and use the cutouts in the blade you can avoid the sharp edge almost completely. I can take a few pictures to illustrate what I mean. Taking off the spine is also very easy with a pair of pliers, I'll show that too. Regards

Greetings Friday 15th March 2013 Prep: Shower Razor: GEM 1912 Damaskeene Blade: GEM Stainless Coated Brush: Semogue OC Soap: Cella Aftershave: Body Shop Macca Root Balm Wonderful shave with my newly acquired Damaskeene. I did get off to a false start with a new GEM blade that I stropped first on my jeans. It was the roughest blade I have ever tried, clearly I did something wrong and I binned it after a single stroke, or perhaps this only works with carbon blades and just removes the coating from PTFE coated blades making them worse. I suspect the latter! Regards Dick

2 1/2 pass w/ touch ups for BBS....First shave since the OCMM on Monday. (Finally healed). I really like the FW. Sweet little razor for sure. Good for you! You need to have a lot softer hair them me. Every barber I went always said I have really strong hair. Wait when you try it Streamline FW always perform for me good( better then any DE) I consider it my go to razor for travel(in future) or when I need quicker shave[together with G-bar](mind 5-7min). I always take time when I shave to enjoy (15-20min).
