Well gents I can see how this is going to go... I got hold of 3 Valet Auto Strops a few months ago. I could only make 1 work by taking the spine off of a SE blade. Close shave but a novelty in a sea of DE fever. After I was wet shaving for several months and crusing the TSN and other sites I heard about SE's and those devoted to them. I got a great deal on a Featherweight. Another great shaver but alas I was still awash in a sea of DE. I had started a blade test and was determined to find my ZEN blade. .. I got caught up in a thread with SharpSpine and ShadowsDad about the ultra-lather technique. Brian SD put out a PIF with 3 great SE's of differing aggressiveness up. As Lady Luck would have it I won. .. I received the razors (Gem J- Bar, Gem Jr. w/ Fat Handle, and an OCMM)... I started with the J-bar...GREAT shave. Then asked to compare with the Featherweight. Another great shave. Next cruising through an antique store I run across a Gem Clog-Pruf and of course I buy it. Next shave is with the Gem Jr. Fatty. ANOTHER BBS. ... So yesterday I'm cursing the bay and one of my favorite sellers has a cased Bullet tip and an Eveready "Flip top" which I have discovered is a 24'. Of course I buy them. The seller is right up the old Mississippi river from me so I should have those 2 by Thursday..... Today I shaved with the CPMM.... ANOTHER BBS. .. Next shave the OCMM.... Moral of the story. 1 week ago I had 4 SE's of which only 2 are serviceable. I received 3 from Brian SD and have purchased 3 more.... My blade test that started in November is moot. I have a dozen DE razors that I will give away and/or sell... ( I will keep 3 for sentimental reasons and in case I come across a UFO Goliath handle I'll have a head or 2 to attach)... As they sit right now I don't think I'll be using them anytime soon... Lordy Lordy!!!, WHAT HAVE YOU FELLAS DONE TO ME. ...My wife is gonna KILL ME. . Lordy Lordy!!!.... DON'T STOP...LOL

Amazing how that works!
And folks think I'm being, well I don't know what, when I write SE would have ruled if Gillette hadn't manipulated the shave world through marketing.
There are a few DE razors that I love and use, but by far my face belongs to SE.
SJR, I was only too happy to have been the tool to complete your conversion to the sharpside.

Brian & Brian you guys got me set up and I thank you both.... Ya'll are like the Yoda and Obi-Wan of wetshaving...lol Now that I'm on the sharpside I feel like a Jemi warrior...
I rode the OCMM today... Man that Mudder Doodie is aggressive. What Brian SD described of it taking a layer of skin is not BS...lol The light saber of SE's for sure... It down right bloodied me up.... A total 2 pass shave with only VERY SMALL touch-ups gave me BBS.. Can't remember ever shaving this close. To be honest I did well in controlling the bloody mess and with some styptic and 2 applications of witch hazel then a good dose of Kramperts Finest. I can see where the weepers were but my face doesn't hurt or feel bad. Not really any razor burn... I'm looking forward to shaving with the Old Gem J- Bar again...lol shaving with that razor is so cool....
Mr. Krampert, thank you for making such a great product and sending me some. If I would have put the good ole Virgin Island Bay Rum on my face, I would have passed out....lol The skin care in Kramperts finest is UN-surpassed.... It's from another galaxy, Far Far Away!!!

Gettin' ready to hit the sack, but you survived the OCMM encounter (thumbs up). Give it some time before getting back to it. Too, if you didn't this time use a blade that has at least 4 shaves on it before putting it into the OCMM. That will help a bit. In a time you'll handle the OCMM as though it was the Jr Bar.
Thanks for the kind words.

Sav survives the OCMM! Woo-Hoo! As SD said, give it a few days before you try it again. Then just use even less pressure (think negative pressure with this razor) and possibly modify the angle slightly and you should dial this one really well.

When I first started wet shaving, I didn't even know about SE razors. I bought my first at an antique store, and just looked at it for a while, I couldn't imagine that an SE could possibly give a decent shave. That GEM featherweight changed everything. I too have several razors that I'm going to be unloading soon, in order to keep my den in order. Each SE seemed nicer than e previous until I got to Henckels Rapide. All I can say is, Whoa! I'm a true LOSER and believer now. My merkur de hasn't been used in several weeks now.

Well gents I can see how this is going to go... I got hold of 3 Valet Auto Strops a few months ago. I could only make 1 work by taking the spine off of a SE blade. >snip< I just caught that. Nothing like a delayed reaction. SJR, do the others have dimples punched into the heads? If so it's possible with many of those to use Feather SE blades and get them to work. Feather SE blades are available from Razor Blades and More.

I know Feather makes the injector type for the Cobras and shavettes. Those are different..
