18 March 2013Pre: Proraso Crema Pre BarbaRazor: GEM OCMM Brush: Elite7 ScarlettSoap: Martin de Candre - Savon À Raser (51) AS: Krampert's Finest Menthol
Kind of an experimental shave today. I tried a multi-directional single pass shave with really good results. Can't fuss too much over a DFS after one pass.

Kind of an experimental shave today. I tried a multi-directional single pass shave with really good results. Can't fuss too much over a DFS after one pass. Multidirectional single pass ... This has me thinking I'm not counting passes the same as others. All along I've counted each direction as a pass...Example: WTG and. XTG equal 2 passes I guess I doing less passes than I thought...

Still experimenting with my actual act of shaving and while I don't think I have it dialed in completely I am pretty impressed. My neck is looking & feeling better than it has in a long time!

Marc, I think you are. I usually do 2 passes. My first pass is WTG all over, what ever actual direction I'm shaving in. The 2nd pass is a hybrid XTG/ATG all over. What I did yesterday was a single pass (I only lathered up once) but I did both WTG and my hybrid XTG/ATG strokes all over. By saying multidirectional I meant that I did WTG and XTG/ATG all in just one lather on my face.

Greetings Wednesday 20th March 2013 Prep: Shower Razor: Valet Autostrop Mod. C Blade: GEM Stainless Coated Modified Brush: Vulfix 406 Soap: Speick Stick grated into a container Aftershave: Floid Balm A magnificent shave from this newly acquired Valet. The problem is that one of the blade stops is a little corroded and when I got the razor was bent; it straightened with the tiniest amount of finger pressure and I doubt it will be long before it breaks off rendering the razor useless. I payed £2.50 for it.........like burning money! Regards Dick.

Wednesday Arko Shave Stick/Omega 10029 1955 Schick H-M/Long's Drugs-Personna d-? Old Spice AS Since I used to hang here...I took 6 weeks to learn how to get great shaves with a Turkish Sedef Shavette...After the first 5 weeks, my sink stopped looking like a scene from 'Helter Skelter'...later the shave got comfortable and irritation free...This Shavette experience taught me a little about my technique or lack of...and my whisker growth patterns... So for the last 3 days I haven't shaved...I usually never miss a day...But I think with my incoming Single Edge package, I'm wanting to wait....lol...make sense??....Well anyway, with my new found shavette 'Chops' when applied to my Schick..I can get a super DFS in one pass even with a 3 day growth...and with 3 days worth of whiskers itching, it feels great.... I can still hear the Baby crying off in the distance...and usually I would look for him, but I think I'll wait for Tom's package before seriously looking for those BBS's again....

I think it's my favorite razor for shaving my neck. That rolling guard really gives me a nice result without irritation or weepers. Almost complete BBS!

I'm really impressed with the different shaving technique I've been using lately. If it works well with the Cobra too then I'll be writing about it and getting other's thoughts and ideas as well.
