I'm someone who tends to travel for business quite often, and since becoming a strictly SE shaver, I now have a dilemma. While I was traveling with DE razors, they tend to unscrew easily, and are really quite sturdy little razors. Now that my razor of choice is a 100+ year old Henckels, or a WWI era GEM, I'm a bit nervous about putting some real miles on them.
For those of you who travel, what SE do you carry with you? And how do you protect it so that the blade guards don't accidentally snap off in transit?

Well, I don't travel frequently, but when I do it's mostly by automobile. If I had to travel by air, I'd either take a cartridge, or an easily replaced DE, something I wouldn't care about losing. I have SE travel kits, but none that I'd want to replace. Of course by auto, I don't have any fear for the razor. If you keep your eyes open on the various b/s/t forums on the different shaving sites SE travel kits come up frequently. That's where I got mine. E-bay probably has them too. Here are my 3 SE travel sets: An OCMM, an ER'24, and an AutoStrop

I always travel with a banged up 1914 Little LC. I unthread the handle which fits snugly inside the frame. Then I put it into an empty pill bottle from the pharmacy. Then it can fit in whatever bag or case I have. Works great. Very compact. And a great shaver. It can take a lot of travel abuse too! I have misplaced or forgotten two now though. : /

My favorite travel razor these days is a WWII era Gem Jr. In a G-3 set.

I travel by car most of the time so I have no problem with taking several razors. I had been taking either my '12 GEM travel razor but the handle is just a bit too short for me. Have also taken one of other regular '12 GEMs. Also take along a Gillette NEW that I just love as far as DE razors go. But recently I have left both of them at home and just gone with my '48 Eversharp-Schick G1 injector. Saves space in the travel kit so I can take an extra cream or shave stick.
When I fly I will only take one razor. I don't take any blades as I have some stored with my daughter and will just grab one from her to use while I am visiting. Even have a nice big shave mug stored with her too. If I am flying somewhere other than Chicago I simply take a BIC Sensitive disposable. Not the best shave but with a bit of work I get a DFS each day.

I'm reserving judgement on my razor pic...as I'm still awaiting delievery on that package from Hoosier Trooper that I'm expecting to 'Rock-My World'.... But I'll tell you this....even when flying...I always take my favorites...I find as a musician sometimes doing rigorous tours and 16 hour flights and such...it is precisely at those times that I appreciate the most, the relaxation and feelings of well-being that a great shave experience can give you... So if I have a razor that is clearly giving me my best shave experience then I'll take it...Looking forward to that shave when I finally hit my hotel room has gotten me through many uncomfortable hours of travel... And if the razor is unreplaceable...then I'll carry it in my trumpet case which never leaves my side...Blades of course in checked baggage....

I am flying tomorrow (Monday) to Yellowknife NWT. Will be taking carry on so I am limited to razor choice. I use a Bic Sensitive, a single edge throw away that works pretty good. Either Kiss my Face cream or LaToja stick (maybe both) Taking my new Franks Shaving silvertip, it is small enough for travel and cheap enough to replace
