Careful with that hand stropping,I heard doing too much of that can cause blindness Depending on what position she's in,my OCMM likes to be held gently just below her neck,my fingertips lightly caressing her smooth contours as she glides across my face in much the same manner described in your tryst with the 1912. Birdman if you haven't performed similarly with your OCMM you may want to soon, word travels quickly among these saucy single wenches

I'm glad we had this little chat....the Micromatic does deserve some quality time....that I'm sure we both will enjoy... I was a little worried about the 'hand-stropping', if I notice any palm whiskers, either the '12 or the MM should remove any traces of evidence, promptly and efficiently...lol....In remembering, these shaves the past few days...one of the things that really stands out for me is the unique feel of the Closed-Tooth Comb....What a concept!...I don't understand, why that didn't just stay the standard guard....It's definitely one of the hippest safety razor guard designs....must have been more costly to build is all I can think..... Great Shaves, and have a Great Weekend Everybody!!!

Birdman if you haven't performed similarly with your OCMM you may want to soon, word travels quickly among these saucy single wenches With 'razorx's advice (quoted above) on my mind...Today I gave the whole shave to this beautiful Gold OCMM gift from HT...Just a few days ago I found THE angle for my 1912 and she knocked me out...Well today, while shaving with my Micromatic; during the first stroke, thanks to Mr.Guy's video; I lowered the handle a couple tads to increase the angle, and found shaving Nirvana....A 2 pass irritation free BBS without any ATG strokes or buffing....no need....Someone far wiser than I told me, he thought it was destiny that I would meet this OCMM, and now I'm sure he was 'spot on"...I can now make the definitive statement, "I love the OCMM"...she's not just a charmer...she's the real deal...like that Gem ad from 1932 says..."The first real razor invention in 20 years"... Now not to insight the rath of our resident marsupial, I must say, I have always been an ardent fan of his writtings, comments and advice, here, in Dens aswell as across the street. I agree no more beautiful razor has ever been invented than the various Lather Cathers...and even in my limited experience I know the Gem Junior Bar is more than capable of delievering the finest of shaves....But I must also call them as I sees them...and I have never received a finer shave, and with only 2 passes from any razor than I did today with this most modern, Art Deco beauty, the Micromatic...and the fact there was nary an ATG stroke made is beyond comprehension....extraordinary! Finer details.....Problem areas such as bottom lip area and underside of chin...NO PROBLEM !! Areas that usually show at least a "pinkness" with a shave this close, like my lower neck area...NO PINKNESS...NO IRRITATION at all....My first impression was right...Although she has claws, she is a real pussy-cat who shaves as close as a shavette with the manners of an injector... Congratulations to Gem for getting it right with so many different razors... Great Shaves and a great week to everybody...!!

I USED TO catch myself using more angle and wonder if was being careless, thinking I was straying away from the flat against the face mantra.Well that's exactly what I was doing.....transitioning from the conservative technique and locking in on the OCMM's zone of maximum effectivness/zero irritation. Between Mr.Guy's outstanding video and your analytical approach you sure seem to have dialed this new axe in fast

I find that ALL SE razors to be quite intuitive. The mind/hand connection just naturally finds their sweet spot no matter which SE it is.

Totally agree Brian.... With decent instincts you can pretty much make any of 'em sing like a humming bird.
These days I get my greatest enjoyment from shaving tools that help me achieve an economy of motion

I also agree with Brian, The main things I picked up from Mr.Guy's video was not to copy him, but to not feel compelled to follow the original instructions that came with these razors and to just shave....and also I saw him going directly straight in under his nose on the WTG pass, and going N-S....Very much like I do with my shavette...straight in and scooping to the desired angle as you move down the top lip...and the OCMM did this beautifully and easily... "Economy of motion"...I like that...can I plagerise you 'rx'?? Both this ER 1912 and OCMM are just that...When I first met these sweeties...I was doing too many passes...but I wanted the practice...I now see that these razors are about "economy of motion"...and they're not talking about it...they're doing it!! I'm the one pontificating, these razors are shaving practically by themselves...lol. Even the Gem HFT, while not in the same league with the OCMM & 1912 for efficientcy, is far more effective than any of my Super Speeds...And he does it with such panache and style...
