I had an experience on eBay that I thought I'd share with everyone here. I recently picked up a really nice I2 Hydro-magic and since I already have a few I decided to sell it on the bay and maybe make a couple dollars. So, I listed it at a starting price of $.99 and included free shipping thinking it might get some attention, but, the week went by with no bids and it ended up selling for the listed price to the only bidder. Oh well, win some, lose some.
Today I get home from work and in the mail is an envelope addressed to me, and at first I didn't recognize the name on the return address, but then I realized it was from the bidder that won the HM. Inside was six dollars and a note from him saying he wanted to cover the shipping cost. Needless to say, I was speechless at such an act of kindness. I sent him a message to thank him and invited him to check out TOST, which I hope he does.
I thought this was a great example showing that there are still decent people out there who are willing to do something nice for a total stranger.
Thanks Scott!

Yup, sounds like he belongs here.
FWIW, of course there is a cross section of humanity on the shave sites, but natural processes weed out the scumbags unless they're in charge. The folks who remain are pretty decent IMO. I've met some really great folks on the various shave sites I inhabit. Some real shitbirds on sites that I no longer go onto also, and they were in charge . That sort of explains why they're still there on those sites and weren't weeded out.

You know Kevin, I wouldn't say that what he did falls under just doing the right thing, because he was under no obligation to do anything. I set the minimum bid and free shipping, he was in the right place at the right time, got an excellent deal, and normally that would be the end of the story. My loss was his gain and I was good with that because that's just how it goes sometimes. I was so struck by his kindness because he went that extra step when there was no obligation to at all on his part.

Congratulations to you both.....To Scott for being hip enough to send the postage to you...Well Done! And to Tom for creating so much good Karma...that good things seem to happen.... Hope Scott does make the scene here, he would fit right in I believe...This place seems to draw good, warm hearted folks...

Wonderful story. An unusual thing for an eBay buyer to do. Now if he does come to TOST please don't get him using any of those GEM Micr"Junk"omatics. You will not be doing him any favors for sure.
