Thursday 5/2 Razor: Ever Ready 1914 Blade: GEM Stainless coated Brush: VDH Pure Badger Lather: Godrej Menthol Mist cream Post: Alum, Lucido, Unrefined Shea Butter Results: Aaah! That's the SE shave I've been missing Great BBS shave from one of my favorite razors. I've been traveling a lot the last couple of weeks and I usually don't bring my SE razors along, since blades are a bit harder to find in the wild. Got back last night and thoroughly enjoyed getting reacquainted with my good old 1914.

Greetings Friday 3rd May 2013 Prep: Shower Razor: Wilkinson Sword Empire Blade: GEM Stainless Coated (modified) Brush: Semogue 830 Boar Cream: T.O.B.S. Sandalwood Aftershave: Astral Cream (light) A really nice shave with this old razor, I love the way the shave is adjustable from super mild to very aggressive, for me it seems to perform best more or less in the middle. Regards Dick.

Currently on a short holiday trip with the in-laws, therefore no pictures. Lessons learnt so far: (1) GEM Micromatics are a lot better than an Everready Streamline; (2) never try to shave with a Pella blade in a Wotan (and if you do, bring lots of plaster). Back to cut-throats for the rest of the trip.

Back to cut-throats for the rest of the trip. Give me an Open Comb Streamline and I think it would be better than my OCMMs. Or, maybe beef up the handle a bit on the OCMM and give it more durable blade stops akin to the Streamline. If I was a billionaire, oh what I'd have produced for us SE enthusiasts.

03 May 2013Run: 20 minutes in Merrell Barefoot shoes - still getting my calves and plantar fascia used to these shoes. My massage later may not be so fun. Shower: Tepid w/ Yardley bath bar Pre: Proraso Crema Pre Barba Razor: EverReady Streamline + Pella PTFE (5) Brush: E7XL Bucky + WSP Finest 27/50 Soap: Martin de Candre Signature (74) AS: Krampert's Finest Menthol A 2-pass DFS resulted when my planned leisurely shave was rushed thanks to the dog waking the kids about half an hour early. Anyone want a dog? Some regular use of the Streamline has certainly helped me dial the angle down even better. The spots that I tend to miss even with 2.5 passes were much better today with only 2 passes. Bucky & MdC certainly matched well this morning and induced a splendid UltraLather.

Greetings Saturday 4th May 2013 Prep: Shower Razor: Schick I1 Injector Blade: Personna Stainless Coated Brush: Vie Long 13061M Horse Soap: La Toja Stick grated into a container Aftershave: Astral Cream (light) A just about perfect shave; whilst this razor is very gentle and easy to shave with, in three passes gives as near to a perfect shave as it is possible to get. Regards Dick.

Greetings Sunday May 5th 2013 Prep: Shower Razor: Schick G8 Injector Blade: Schick Custom Golden Swedish Steel (NOS) Brush: Vulfix 406 Boar Soap: Lea Stick grated into a container Aftershave: Astral Cream (light) An extremely 'tuggy' shave with these old blades, which I think date from the early 60's. I just can't resist using up some of these old blades as some of the cartridges are nearly full up, this one contains 17 blades still. I have to say this is just meanness and bloody mindedness on my part as none of them shave as comfortably as the Personna PTFE Coated blades from Connaughts although the smoothness of the finish is fine if you can stand the tugging to get there! Regards Dick

Sunday morning Gem G Bar Gem SS PTFE blade WSP Prince Ogallala Bay Rum & Lemon Grass soap Witch Hazel Captains Choice Bay Rum AS Clubman talc Tried some more water in the brush today..it made the lather a bit thin and bubbly for my liking, although no complaints on the shave. Attempt of taking a picture while shaving, messed up my razor head angle...
