Greetings Wednesday 8th May 2013 Prep: Shower Razor: GEM Pushbutton Blade: GEM Stainless Coated Brush: Omega 10810 Boar Soap: Wilkinson Sword Stick grated into a container Aftershave: Astral cream (light) A really close shave from a mild SE. The Wilkinson Sword sticks are superb just the opposite of the blue bowls which I feel are very poor. Regards Dick. I was just thinking the other day that I had not seen a push button shave in awhile. Impressive Sir!

Gem Heavy Flat Top Gem SS/PFTE Blade (12) Made-Rite 500PB Brush Arko Shave Stick Kroger (Vi-Jon) Arctic Blue AS
I got a nice shave with the HFT this morning. I've always liked the feel of this razor and I'm finally getting consistently good shaves with it.

Greetings Saturday 11th May 2013 Prep: Shower Razor: Valet Autostrop 1904 Blade: GEM Stainless Coated Brush: Burma Shave Boar Soap: Palmolive Stick grated into a container Aftershave: Astral Cream (light) My first shave with this newly acquired but my oldest razor. This model is I believe the first model that Valet/Autostrop made and is patented in Great Britain in 1904 and 1907. It is silver plated and shaves superbly albeit quite aggressively. Scratced on the bottom of the nickel plated tin in which it came is:- A H Truman 3 Ox/Bucks Lt Infty. Which is the 3rd Battalion The Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Light Infantry. A search on the internet reveals the razors original owner was a Second Lieutenant in this regiment and I have found mention of him in the seige of Kut during the First World War in Mesopotamia (today's Iraq) in 1916, fighting the Turks. If only this razor could talk! Best Regards Dick

Gem OCMM Gem SS/PFTE Blade (13) Made-Rite 500PB Brush Arko Shave Stick Pereja Lemon Cologne
After a long period of sticking with one or two razors per week, I've gone back to doing my daily "tour" of my collection. One that has been long neglected is the first SE razor I acquired, the venerable OCMM. Got the customary close shave with it this morning.

Greetings Sunday 12th May 2013 Prep: Shower Razor: Star 1912 Blade: GEM Stainless Coated Brush: Semogue 830 Boar Soap : Tweex Stick grated into a container Aftershave: Astral Cream (light) A really nice close shave, this razor was a 99 pence buy from e-bay, not a perfect specimen by a very long way but it shaves wonderfully. The Tweex stick is my favourite of the four Turkish shave sticks ie Arko Derby and GZD, but I have to say that IMHO they are all fairly similar. Regards Dick.

Gem Contour CVS CS Blade (1) Made-Rite 500PB Brush Arko Shave Stick Family Dollar (Vi-Jon) Spice AS
I love CS blades! Got a completely smooth, effortless shave with a new CVS CS blade although I'm certain the mild Contour played a role in that. It's been a very long time since I've purchased blades at CVS. They don't seem any different than the Gem Blue Star blades I had been using.
