Chalk up another one for our thoughtful and generous citizens of Tost....I'm still basking in the warmth of Hoosier Trooper's glorious Pif...and I think it should be obvious to all my friends around here how much I love my ER 1912 and Gem OCMM...Since I've dicovered the pleasures of the single edge and theres no turning back...I've also already started piffing my DEs....
I guess I have openly been singing the praises around here of how beautiful I find my 1912's older siblings the 1914 and 24...and maybe I'm also guilty of drooling at some of the Ever Ready porn....BUT Hey....They are such beautiful and fetching little shave vixens, I couldn't control myself..."Your Honor, I plead insanity...I'm just CRAZY about those razors...."
So my old friend Alan, PM'ed me that he wanted to "Thin out his herd" and was sending me a 1914 early model and a 1924 cigarette case set...Once again I'm floored...
In the short time since I've been here, I've seen so many Pifs flying around, you could lose an eye...There really is such an amazing level of brotherhood around here and you "Tosters" truly make this a unique and wonderful place...
My hats off to you all....and specifically in my case; I cannot thank Tom and Alan enough....Bravo!! This scene is like a dream...I'm getting the best shaves of my life...and I'm having the best time in the process....

Tom and Alan Rock... Very cool for sure. The '14s are special razors,my favorites can vary but the '14 always is incredibly fun to shave with.I'll say no more,I'd rather wait to hear your thoughts.

Ahhh come on and say...It won't influence my opinions, I promise...I'm so opinionated and serious about what I like and look for in a shave...I quarantee I'll be spontaneous and honest with my thoughts....Like all I had heard about the OCMM was it was a mad dog and only aggression junkies dug them....and I'm certainly not an aggression junkie but I loved the OCMM from the first stroke, and thought it was very easy to bond with... So if you would like to gossip about these girls, I'd love it...It would help me pass the time til I have those lovelies here...

The '14 is the most lively razor I've shaved with.As you'd expect there's an abundance of auditory feedback....plus for me the tactile feedback's a hoot,it is as if I can feel the handle resonates with the vibrations of whisker destruction. It not only handles like a sports car it lets you feel every little irregularity in the surface of the road.It is the antithesis of the lifeless overweight modern stainless steel double edge razors that seem to be popular these days.
As you may have seen, there is some good information here at TOST regarding the early '14s blade stops and the springs that rest against the spine of the SE blades
Lloyd it's definitely a blast from the past !

I predict you'll like the '14 a lot. For me it provides results every bit as good as a Damaskeene or Streamline, but it is a bit tricky to open, close and load/unload. I think the engineers at ER where a step or two behind their counterparts that designed the easier to open, close and load/unload 1912.
