Title says it all, very happy about the condition. Used but with almost no wear. And the case is awesome, must be from the transitional period. Pic coming later tonight.

Greetings
What a wonderful looking OC Dammy, it looks virtually unused. A great buy!
Regards Dick.

Thanks gents, I feel lucky to have one... Would really like to learn more about that case, and when it was used. In some earlier threads I noticed it mentioned about a transitional period, when the dammy razors were being sold in the older Gem Jr lather catcher cases. Is that what case I have here? It has the * 7 * in the badge. Obviously compared to the damaskeene cases we see commonly, this case is longer, thinner and lower profile. I think im missing the blade holder for hand stropping, or did it come with this set. Am i right in my assumption that given the case and that its an OC , it may be one of the first produced? An early batch ? assuming the razor and case belong together. perhaps a late 1911 ?

I don't think you have to worry about it being one of the first 1912's....But there are others here so much more qualified than me...But I can say with all authority that that is one beautiful razor you have there sir...

Without question it's one of the earliest ones they made. Here's an ad from May 29, 1915 that shows by then they where selling them with the more familiar solid handle.

Tom, I understand what you mean about the handle completely. What puzzles me is the case. I havent seen many ads, none that I recall with the * 7 * case. Must be, to use that word again ; transitional ? Gem Jr LC leftover cases? The blade bank is also a strange one.... its spring loaded!

Check out this ad from 1912. The case and handle looks the same as yours, but the frame of the razor is the older model.
