Friday: I missed a couple days shaving this week and when I caught my catch-up shave I reached for my ER 1912...Then at the last minute I decided this would be an awesome try-out for the Gem Feather-Weight that I've been needing to try out... So be it....Knocked me out...just a perfect shave...3 pass BBS....Did Gem ever make a razor that wasn't perfect in every way?? lol!! Sat.: Back to normal....Yesterday's shave was pure BBS, put today there was no doubt I needed to shave... and thats a good thing... I'll tell you....I love the F-W, the HFT, and especially the OCMM...But any day I don't use the 1912, I miss that sound...so far the 1912 gives the most satisfying sound...I'm looking forward to checking out the 1914 and '24 because I hear they have beautiful voices aswell.... aside from the razors both days I used: Arko shave stick/Omega 10029 Gem SS d5 & 6 Old Spice AS

Greetings Sunday 19th May 2013 Prep: Shower Razor: Schick Adjustable Blade: Gillette Platinum Plus Brush: Vulfix 404 Mixed Soap: Tabac stick grated into a container Aftershave:Astral Cream (light) Took delivery yesterday of this Schick Injector which is NOS. I am very pleased with it. It is a little heavier than my other Schick's, I seemed to need to set it on a fairly high setting for it to cut well, exactly as I had to do with the PAL Adjustable, I shaved with it on six but I suspect fully open on eight might be better. It certainly appears to be a kind forgiving and easy to use razor especially with these excellent blades that a member on another forum sent me. Does anybody know which model it is? It has M41 stamped on the head/frame and it does not have the blade protection system for travelling; M1 M2 or M3 ? Regards Dick.

Right. This is fun. I recently chanced upon a box full of SEs which I am now distributing among friends and family. But before they go into the post, a little test drive seems in order. These three were quite ok. They all come with their original boxes, all of them in excellent condition. The GEM with the nickel plated handle even had the cardbox outer packaging in French (the box came from Wallonia). It provided the closest shave and best handling. The Star is nice, but does not offer as close a shave as the GEM. The Junior has a Bakelite or plastic (who knows) handle that is far too lightweight for my taste. As an extra, all three came with NOS blades. I tried a GEM carbon one today. And I seriously wish these were still made. Less aggressive than the PTFE Teflon coated ones formerly known as Ted Pella blades, but equally sharp. I cannot think of anything except a well honed straight razor (blade) to match the efficiency of these blades. Very nice. Unfortunately, there are only four of them left. And, yes, they catch rust while you look at them. The rest is a standard setup featuring a 26mm Thäter two band, Baume.be aftershave balm, and Green Mountain Soap's Chihuahua or something like that. The aftershave balm is not really necessary because the soap provides adequate moisturising in the - finally! - warm weather.
