Greetings Monday 13th May 2013 Prep: Shower Razor: Ever Ready 1912 Blade: GEM Stainless Coated Brush: Vulfix 406 Boar Cream: Ingram Aftershave: Astral Cream (light) I did this morning, try an Ever Ready Corrux blade as I have several of these that I got with an old British razor. I was unable to shave with it as it was just too rough and 'tuggy', these blades look and feel a lot thicker than the modern GEM's but I have not put the verniers on them as yet, a bit academic really if you cannot shave with them! Regards Dick.

Greetings Tuesday 14th May 2013 Prep: Shower Razor: Valet Autostrop (Canadian) Blade: GEM Stainless Coated Modiffied Brush: Vulfix 404 Mixed Soap: Klar Kabinett Aftershave: Astral Cream (light) A poor old shave, three weepers and I nicked the large mole I have on my cheek. This Canadian version of the Autostrop is a whole lot more aggressive than any of the other models I have, the blade just sits so much nearer to the comb, in fact it is quite a bit more aggressive than an OCMM. Notwithstanding those excuses I generally manage to make a fist of it, but today's shave just all went wrong........reason; user error, almost certainly heavy handedness. Regards Dick.

Greetings Thursday 16th May 2013 Prep: Shower Razor: PAL Injector Blade: Gillette Platinum Plus NOS circa. 1967 Brush: Semogue 620 boar Soap: Tabac stick grated into a container Aftershave: Astral Cream (light) A very nice shave indeed. This PAL injector and the blades are an exceedingly generous gift from across the pond from a friend on another forum. I have, only on one previous occasion shaved with a PAL Adjustable and that was a loan razor; this was last July and at that time I was new to SE razors in general and injectors in particular. This razor is different from my other injectors, it shaves perfectly but needs a slightly different blade to face angle from my other injectors including my standard PAL, it has a completely different feel to it, not bad or difficult in any way just different and hard to properly explain. These old blades are very good indeed, exceedingly smooth and sharp, I used the razor on it's highest setting as it did not seem to cut very well on the lower settings and there was absolutely zero tug with these blades. I am absolutely thrilled with my new 'toys'! Regards Dick.

I get great shaves from this razor, steeper angle required and when in the zone it's a solid performer.I've found that the 5 position adjustment dial works well, number 3 really is dead center,I use it when I want to go easy on my skin yet it's still fairly efficient.Setting 5 for me is somewhere halfway between an I2 Hydro-Magic and an E2.

Greetings Friday 17th May 2013 Prep: Shower Razor: Schick L1 Blade: Gillette Twinjector NOS vintage Brush: Burma Shave Boar Soap: Speick Stick grated into a container Aftershave: Astral Cream (light) A super smooth finish but an awful shave. A friend on another forum sent me this razor and these blades from the states. The very first stroke I nicked a mole on my cheek which throughout the rest of the shave bled profusely, the blood running down my cheek and dripping off my jaw! As the shave progressed along I managed to get three tiny weepers. All of this is nothing whatsoever to do with the razor which is mild and easy to use and everything to do with these really weird blades and my heavy handed technique. These blades are really sharp but at the same time tug like mad, which I suspect may be caused by having two cutting edges only about 1mm apart, so double the friction in nearly the same area. I suspect these blades were in their day very expensive to manufacture and perhaps that is why they did not survive. I will not give up but will come back to these after my mole has healed! I must sound like a really ungrateful bugger but I am just not yet 'man enough' for these blades. Regards Dick.
