That's what I did,got a few different types to try early on,can't beat seeing for yourself firsthand.
While DE razors can be all over the place with performance, most SE's are fairly solid razors.it's pretty hard to find one that performs badly....
Have Fun !

You weren't hurt at all paying $6 for that. The Jr is a very nice shave with, IMO, just the right balance of aggression. It and the GEM '24.

So Brian....I always hold your assessments in very high esteem....what's the pecking order of your favorites in your shave-cave?? Thanks for the kind words. You would have to ask me that. I have so many favorites. Not too long ago I would have rated the Damaskeene high up on the list, but I find it a hair too mild for me now, and I find myself not using mine very much. It gives an acceptable shave however. My 4 SE razors that I find I use the most are a GEM '24, Gem Jr, ER '24, and the OCMM. As I write that I'm reminded of the ER lather catchers, '05-'07, and Superior 1900 LC that I like a lot also. The LCs have a really different feel to them- the head itself flexes. See why I don't like this question? I really don't have a good answer. I like too many. Note that I don't have a Streamline. If I had one my "best of" list might contain another razor. OK, having written that, it wouldn't surprise me even a little bit if your favorites make up a different list. Just because I like the above razors doesn't mean that you will.

Hey thanks man...your commentary is always insightful, honest and informative...I know the YMMV factor is always very high on questions like these, but I sure appreciate you taking the time to answer...and I realize how difficult these kind of questions are, but I think you did a grand job with it...and you did have lots of good thought provoking points...
